The Cowboys head into the second and third round with four picks thanks to their trade with Philadelphia, but Stephen Jones did not anticipate moves up because the Cowboys need the low-cost picks considering some high-priced contracts. “We take a lot of pride in the way we’ve drafted over the last 10 years, but we put a lot of work in our board,” he said. “I think if we stick to all the work that we’ve put into it, we’re really going to get really good football players.”

Have to admit, a short trade up from 44 seemed like a decent move if we had a willing trade partner

Barmore or Moering or maybe Samual

then again, theres a great chance one of those three or Holland is there at 44

I have never hated a owner more than Stephen Jones.
Were you one of those people that felt like the franchise would get better once Jerry retired/died? Stephen has been making questionable moves for a couple of years now, yet people gave him a pass because of Jerry's dumb decisions.

All of those guys are falling like a rock. Good chance at least one of them (Barmore) is there at 44. Good chance we would pass on him at 44.

Stephen is ridiculous at this point.

I wonder if he turns up the thermostat at AT&T during games to save money on air conditioning...has attendants turning off lights in unused bathrooms.

The salary cap difference between the 33rd pick and the 44th pick is a non-factor. Quit being so cheap.

Asante Samuel Jr. seems like the last starting level CB left.

Not for nothing. But this could have also been the year we obtained a franchise caliber QB.

I wouldn't trade up in the 2nd round (and risk losing a 3rd), but there's no need for 11 picks. Absolutely use those later picks to move up in the third and get what you need.

But these guys also said players who opted out are compromised, then drafted a guy who opted out. Its all deflection and smoke screens

Well, let's hope "staying put" means as much tomorrow, as "passing on those who opted out" meant today. Seriously, trade up with the Jets at 34. With 44 and 99, it matches the trade chart, and we get either JOK or Moehrig. Worth it, easily!

Ya know....I TRULY want to have a good outlook, but it becomes increasingly difficult every time one of them runs their mouth.

Hell, I wouldn't trade up either.......round 2-3 is all ice cream, just what flavor you like (lol). Think about it, five CBs ( Horn, Surtain, Newsome, Farley and Stokes) off the board. I'm not sure an immediate starting type is left. Certainly not enough to give up a draft pick for. At this point, I say get your safety and one the DT and maybe another LBer. Hell, even with Parson, what happens when LVE starts missing games.
