Surtain or Horn have much better positional value and the way our NFCE rivals are going I would have preferred either one of them even if the talent may have have been a slight drop off compared to Parsons.

Moving up for either corner would have been a massive mistake.

If the Corners were their main targets at 10, this front office did a disservice with all their talking pre draft. Both went before 10, but they had Big red blinking CB on both of their foreheads.

I want to believe they were ok with either CB at 10, but were playing other teams and were also trying to see if they could move back and add a pick. But then I realize who I am talking about.

So I am glad they didn't move up. We will see if they are right on Parsons. A few stud DT and a good safety and CB would help. This defense still needs a lot of help.
I love your line, "they had Big red blinking CB on both of their foreheads". These clowns think they can outsmart people using their favorite toy, the media. The real, this team has so many needs that we were bound to land a player at a position of need if we stayed in the top 15 thats why you interview 20-30 potential draftees.

I think Fish is wrong alot but on the Fan this morning he said that the efforts to move up to 6 was to be certain to get PARSON'S not the CBs

Hmmm first time hearing this but read/heard more than a couple of times the Lions were very high on Parson

I know, but he's quoting Stephen........

But something's off ........we've heard Parson was their guy at 10. I suppose it could be he was their 3rd after Horn and/or Surtain. The only question, if you thought enough to of them to move to 6, then why not 7, 8, or 9?

because those teams ahead of us are already had their minds made up for a particular player that was available.. including two of those teams were dead set on CBs
that we clearly had high interest in.

And surprisingly there wasn't any trade downs in the top 10 picks of the first round.

and I don't believe Fish not one bit. That sounds like marketing Parson.
If they wanted Parson that badly as such, they wouldn't have even entertain the thought of trading down to Philly and risking Parson.
That rumored trade up had to be for one of the CBs..

But some other teams had a higher value on those same CBs hence why they were gone. I am not sold Parsons is NFL ready he only has 2 years of free lancing LB on his resume.

They did their due diligence by making the phone call to ask. I doubt it got much further than that given the cost.

This. Did they inquire? Hopefully - as they should. Stop making big stories about them doing their job lol.

Stephen A smith. Not even because of his hatred of the Cowboys.

What he said about Kawhi and Canada should have gotten him fired.
Not close. Fish bills himself as some uber insider connected with all the interior workings and thoughts of the franchise. Stephen A is paid to be a blowhard provocateur.

Challenge Stephen A and he will ignore or double down. Fish tucks tail and blocks you so others don't realize he is nothing but dumber Paulie Walnuts

Nothing wrong with discussing trades up or down. But it would have cost 44 and they just weren't going to do that.

10 to 6 was going to be too expensive. That's a difference of 300 points and the quality of players available at 6 still would drive the value up higher. I think the place to try would have been 7 or 8. But It would have had to happen before the draft. I think once Detroit saw Sewell sitting there at 7 there was no chance they make a trade unless they could fleece the team they were trading with. And because the Cowboys made it so obvious they were looking to take a CB, there was clearly no chance Denver or Carolina was going to move off their position. I think we are fortunate the Cowboys did not move up in one way, because they would have had to overpay to do so.
