Agreed. All hands on deck to stop the run please. This draft pick looks like a thumper. And did I see right that he ran a 4.3 40.
yet even better because we traded down 2 spots got 3rd rounder and Parsons. now if we can package something and race up the 2nd round and grab Barmore today, umm that can fix a lot on defense up the middle..parsons and Barmore..consolation prize maybe Moehrig or asante samulel jr?

so look at as we lost out on the CBs but got 3rd and Parsons..

I guarantee if you told Jerry and Co that you'd have your pick of Fields or Jones at 10 he wouldn't have jumped the gun and gave Dak a contract he did not deserve.

I doubt that. Jerry was set on paying Dak no matter what. Talent, or available talent in the draft, had nothing to do with it.

We will soon see whether drafting Fields or Jones or signing Dak was the right move.

Easy decision....they traded the pick to a division rival who took a Heisman winning WR in Devon Smith. Now they will have to face D. Smith twice a year. They could of traded back with the Bears and got next years #1 and still got a LB, CB, S, DT at #20. In.stead, they let another Division Rival make the trade

Bad move.....
But we don’t get Parsons. No thank you.

These guys are real boring. Yuk! They don't even know what they're talking about. Gas bags all.
If it was a bad pick why the B grade lol
They didn’t take the guard so they hate the pick

You don’t draft players in the first round to get better at run defending. That’s what a stupid team in a modern era would do.

Run defending is mostly about filling gaps and being in the right spots anyways and not a talent thing although this player does do some unique things in that department.

Sorry, factually wrong. In 1993, you stopped the run mainly by filling gaps. But, as you said, this is 2021. Where most QB's are also a threat running the football. And the current passing game, is spreading out the defense, and then hitting short throws to guys like Tyreek Hill and let them do damage in open space. a Your LB's MUST be able to flow sideline to sideline and cover the whole field, not just fill the gaps.

That's hard to call. Jones or Fields will not have the offensive talent around them that Dak does, so we won't ever truly know how well Jones or Fields would've been in Dallas.

It's like Dak in 2016. What if he didn't have Zeke, Dez, Witten, and that O-line? How would Dak have been in a situation where he wasn't surrounded with talent? He may have never been the QB he is today.

He looks like it. I don’t want to see him running people down from behind. Side to side and hit. Also said he is a good blitzer.
Yep.....that's what I meant....head on, behind the line, that type of thing. Tired of seeing LBers chasing runners downfield.

They also made a huge mistake paying Dak as much as they did, so who they wasted a draft pick on should come as no surprise. Trading out of the top 10 was pretty dumb too, especially since it went to a division rival. To me it just proves Jerry's desire to be 'relevant' and 'interesting' rather than trying to build a championship roster.
Couldve sat at 10 and took Fields if Dak were on the tag right now.

Only good i can think of right now is at least Philly didnt take him

Guard that can play tackle and has proven he can handle Chase Young for a team that has unreliable Tackles.

We don’t need any of that?
'

So you're still adding to the line? You have tons a weapons and a QB who can get the ball out to one of them in a hurry and going Oline takes precedence over the the worst D ever? Still mind blowing. A team where once upon a time those same tackles weren't unreliable and they still went no where.

In the modern NFL of today where teams play so much nickel and dime packages, you don't waste a first round pick on linebackers anymore, the front four and the back end is more important.. How many wasted linebacker picks does this club have to make before they clue in, Lee(great player but often injured), Carter, Smith and LVE.. none have lived up to their billing....I wouldn't take a linebacker until at least the late second round in todays NFL

Not only that but appears we got another "project". If this were a STUD LBer 4 years and BIG games.....maybe.

Out for a year and penn State hasn't played any big games. I'm no expert but I don't call this pick a winner either. Not yet.
