Or more like, most of the fans think backwards, but think they know better, for which they do not.

For those thinking they wanted Farley, such as you are saying, they would then whine about Jerry taking an injured player.
Healthy best defensive player in the draft in Parsons, or a 2 time back surgery risk in Farley?

We took Jaylon Smith after major knee surgery.

Yeah, the way folks (including Dallas media) are acting like Parsons is some second rate bum is laughable.

I would have preferred a cornerback because it would have filled an immediate need at starter.

That said, we can’t control the way the board unfolds or force a trade.

Between Parsons and Slater I go Parsons every time. OG is not a position of need and I do not see him as a an OT. Parsons will be an impact player whether he starts or not his rookie season.

I do understand your logic, but we do have a need a OG. Slater would be a major improvement over Connor Williams. Some people called Slater the next Zach Martin. If so, Slater would make the OL a lot stronger in a division with a lot of really good DTs. Slater improves the offense more than Parsons will help the defense, IMO. I say this as a person who is not a particularly big Slater fan. Of course I would have preferred to see another trade down and the possibility of picking up another 2nd round pick but I am guessing teams did not want to give up 2nd round picks because they see the value there in this draft.

Tonight the Cowboys have 4 picks unless they use them to trade up in round 2 - because there are some round 1 talents available. A lot can get fixed in one night.

Órale, carnál! I'm from both La Feria y Santa Rosa (Class of '89). Back in my day, Sharyland was in the same 3A district...a very tough rival. Sharyland has grown tremendously in the 30+ years since then.

As for Dak, I knew and stated he would become our franchise QB when we drafted him, because I followed him during his Mississippi State college years. I knew he would become our franchise QB because Romo was finished due to his constantly broken up body, and Moore was too short.

What are you doing in Virginia? Got tired of the Valley heat and humidity? lol
Nah, parents got jobs up here and I moved with. Now I'm married with 3 kids so I'm not returning to TX anytime soon lol

I knew top corners never make it out of the top 10 but we had the opportunity to snatch the best tackle in the draft. They should have traded down with the Bears and snatch the top Safety or the CB from Virginia Tech. We do things backwards.

Trading with the Bears would have been nice but we'd have to had to give them a bargain to do so. There was no way we were taking a QB there so it was easy to wait it out. I'm not up on rookie salaries to know if being drafted only one slot lower is a lower cost to the team contract-wise but maybe it is. The only leverage we had is if we were talking to another team who wanted to move up for Fields there and I guess the Bears thought better to risk it only one slot later since picks 10-13 were unlikely to be for a QB and New England was rumored to be looking for one too.

Scouts, coaches and GM's don't watch YouTube videos. They watch film we don't have access to. The watch from a position of experience in what it takes to be a good football player. They talk to the players. They talk to the players coaches. They talk to lots of folks. We don't do any of that so we have no clue.
Lots of truth there sir.....although I wouldn't say we have NO clue, just quite limited.

Everything we have on these guys isnt any more than a recycled opinion of someone else.

Yes I remember. I was trying to set up that bet between you and another. He said Sewell would go no lower than 6 so you would have won that bet both ways.
I was right about cincy going with Chase, however I didn't think Atlanta would take Pitts cause they would trade down and a QB would went 4th.

What you see doesn't matter, Slater is a natural tackle like every scout has already said. Parsons is a project like Jason Williams was in 2009. A linebacker with top speed that could rush the passer.
PFF ranks him as best Blitzer last 7 years

So before the draft a lot of posters were saying don’t take a CB at 10 because there are plenty just as good available later. Now the sky is falling because we didn’t take one at 10. What gives.

because they went earlier lol. once other teams value guys that high peoples entire outlook changes lmao.. it's like clockwork each year
