Not sure how I feel about another character issue selection. They usually don't work out for us however once again he has that upside gamble....

Dallas first game plan out of the gate was to go get Moehrig or Barmore with all those picks in the third. Spineless organization

Again, talent alone, the pick is fine. I'd take him at CB over the kid from Cuse or Samuel.

But the fact they have a problem at S and Moehrig is just sliding and you do nothing is what bothers me. They have 5 picks in the 3rd and 4th round. Despite Stephen babbling stupidly about how they want to make all those picks because they can use the cheap contracts for cap managment, there is little chance all five of those picks are going to make the team.

So spend a 3rd or 4th and get Moehrig.
I get it but don't we also have a need at CB? Didn't we at least make some moves at S in free agency with Kazee?

Didn't this kid shut down the Alabama receivers everybody was slobbering over in the first round?

Thats all I need to know about him. This is a great pick and if people expect every NFL prospect to be a choir boy they've got unrealistic expectations.

How the heck do you know that ? You do know that Quinn attended the Kentucky pro day himself. I’m sure he was on board with taking this kind of player.
Quinn may be onboard, but that doesnt make it a smart pick.
And hey it might work out as a good pick, but then again it may not.

I liked the last pick at 99 better, that guy is 6'4 fast and good at int's. and they got him at 99 !

Just out of curiousity, I am thinking it takes a lot to get suspended at LSU. A WHOLE lot.

The reason these character guys don't work out here in Dallas, is because the Jones enable these guys to act like whatever crap they want to be like. Players know they can take off plays, be fat, bad mouth the team, get paid 3x what they are worth, use drugs, get suspended, and still have Jones pay them and Pat them on the back , while they wait to get in shape, get reinstated, grow a set of nuts, etc. You can't win in the NFL anymore this way. The NFL is way too regulated, and don't like the cowboys anyways. The cap forbids this type of behaviour. Without the cap, I'd be more for taking chances, but bad behaviour hurts the cap on top of losing players , etc.
We need Parcells or Jimmy Johnson types. We need an authoritarian that also can coach , or be over guys he knows can. We have none of that. But a few good assistants, like the ol line coach.

Yeah, you too, haven’t seen you in awhile.

I really did expect him to go with safer picks. After 25 years of not winning a single divisional playoff game, I figured he would have moved on from these rehabilitation projects he likes to get to try and show how much smarter he is than all the other GM’s. Last year was pretty good overall so I thought he may have made the turn.

How people try to defend a pick of a guy that has well documented issues with work ethic and maturity is beyond me. Sure, he’s had some good games and may turn out to be really good but he’s also known for giving up big plays and is a mental liability.

Personally I don’t think the risk is worth the potential reward for a 2nd round pick. Especially since we had so many picks to try and trade with. Truly unbelievable, if I wasn’t a Cowboys fan I would be eagerly anticipating the hours until this blows up in his face.
I knew if he was going to gamble it would be with a 2nd round pick. That’s usually when he does it.
