They can count 11 incidents all they want but breaking a key or tossing a phone isn't an incident.

Overblown

I just hope he's as good at smacking grown men around as he is smacking women around. Fingers crossed.

As if a young girl being scared to press charges means he's innocent. Please.

And she said he was physical with her. Not "he broke a key".

Did he break that agreement? Did he stalk her? Her word against his? No charges? No suspension? Maybe Goodwill will punish him now, since he's a Cowboy?

I don't know or care if he broke the agreement. You are trying desperately to try to minimize what he did. He assaulted his GF multiple times. He had to enter into a restraining agreement. He hasn't ever really denied what he did.

Those are just the facts. I don't like having guys that hit or assault women on my favorite team. You seem OK with that. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Let it go!!! Were you beat up as a kid?? You don't know what happened so shut up already!

Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify and excuse the Cowboys picking this guy.
I don't care about the pick. I don't even know who this guy is. I find it funny that you are so quick to judge an 18 year old without knowing all the facts. Maybe it's personal, if so, my bad.

I don’t condone violence of any sort... But ain’t you tired of our most talented players on defense being nice guys? Go all the way back to ware, Newman, Brady James, Spears, Lee, Crawford ect. Nice to see the defense getting some dogs... Big Mac and Quinn influence.

Or course as a father I want nothing but the very best for my child. Someone who makes her cry is a problem. The Cowboys though are not my daughter. They are my football team. It’s a different relationship.
well said. So my point is if there are red flags with the young man that would cause you concern for your daughter then the young man has red flags. So the man has red flags that can not be chalked up to youthful ignorance. I'm concerned about those red flags as it relates to the football team. If I had a daughter I would be terrified if she brought home a man with his past. I have nieces that are his age and if they dated someone with his past I would be terrified and very concerned. So I'm concerned on much lower scale about his past. My concern is not a personal concern due to no personal involvement so my concern is that he can complicate the team if his anger is not under control.

As I said in another post, he's a Cowboy now and I will support him on and off the field. If he proves his past is his present then I hope we move on from him. If he proves he has changed then I am on board and supporting him.

It's really not difficult if you're not too busy virtue-signalling. I tell myself that, yeah, this guy appears to have done some horrible things to his girlfriend several years ago. But I don't know why that should prevent him from being a good, contributing member of this team. And I certainly don't think that doing horrible things, even far worse than what he appears to have done, should prevent someone for all time from being employed in the profession of his choosing. That seems to me an unprincipled conflation of his personal and professional life, consistent with modern cancel culture but thoroughly detestable in my opinion.

They just couldn't help it.

There were plenty of OTs there that didn't beat up their girlfriends. It is like we drafted for the impending headlines.

I have zero issues with him seeking profession as a football player. I just don't want a guy who assaulted his girlfriend multiple times to be associated with my team. I think it's a bad look for the team and frankly it puts some fans in an awkward position to have to root for a guy that they have real issues with due to the fact he did, as you say, horrible things to his girlfriend.

Many of my friends up here are Phillies fans. The Phillies brought up Odubel Herrera to play CF. Herrera choked his girlfriend. Many Phillies fans are pissed that the Phillies would even have him on the team and put them in a situation where they may have to cheer and support a guy who assaulted a woman. To me, what the Cowboys did is similar. I don't want to have to root for this guy. I don't want to have to be in a position where we are in a big playoff game and he's playing LT and I have to root for him to not get Dak killed.

That's fair.

Gonna be a fitting end for ol Odubel..as he's currently choking away his last opportunity to be a big leaguer. Won't miss him when he's gone.

I hate that we dumped a pick on this dude.

What he did isn't a life sentence, but it says a lot about him. Would've rather drafted just about anybody.

Why should you?

Because what reason did she have to lie about it?

Because where there's smoke there's usually fire?

Because he has displayed reckless and unsettling behavior in public?

Because he literally choked himself in front of coaches to the point that they had to intervene?

Because all the times he's been asked about it he's never simply come out and said "I didn't do it."
