If that’s all you want. Shelvin and Tonga are still available.

i've the feeling that Cowboys have no interest at all in those guys. they dont want big bodies, ,the smaller the better how they see it

Remember when everyone wanted andrew billings the big super strong 1T who can barely make the field and does nothing for the bangles. Just taking a big guy isn't enough either.
Plenty of those guys that are just big 350 lbs and get knocked around and can't get on the field. Jay Ratliff was a smaller guy that I remember fans hated when he was drafted saying he was too small and ended up playing NT and was a beast. It's talent and skill and desire, if that was the case you can just go on the show 600 lb life and grab a guy from there to play DT.

RDE - Gregory
3 tech - Gallimore
1 tech - Woods/Urban ?
LDE - Dlaw

LB - Jaylon
MLB - Parson

RCB - Brown (Johnson)
LCB - Diggs
FS - Kazee
SS - Wilson

With extra 3rd's ,we flat didn't get enuff difference makers in this draft class, imo

i don't recall any fans hating drafting Ratliff ,. as he was a 7th round pick .
if anything they couldnt understand a 285 pound NT in a two gap 3-4 scheme.
what wasn;t known was Ratliff became very reluctant to move away from the NT role and into a DE spot.

. This notion that 1 tech run stopping DT has to be 6'4 and 380 lbs is just crazy.

Yep, one look at the leading rush defenses last season backs that up.

We have folks who seem to think you just plug in some fat slob who can't move to stop the run.

I know you're referring to Urban who was the beneficiary of better players around him in Chicago on their defensive front. He's a guy who will be exposed if we play him starter reps.
He has been a decent player his entire career. They have added 11 players on defense so far and brought in a coach to coach them. They have done what they needed to do.

They signed Urban which is a run stopping DT and drafted Osa who is also a run stopping DT. This notion that 1 tech run stopping DT has to be 6'4 and 380 lbs is just crazy. Osa can easily hit 300 lbs once he is on that NFL weight plan.
Not to mention he'll gladly play wherever you put him.

It's just physics. Osa is built like a 3-tech, and has pass rushing skills, length, and big hands, but can also move outside. 20 pounds is the difference between 2 weight classes in boxing, and for good reason. Not to say there isn't some flexibility, and variables here, but you're acting as though it's not an age old formula. Not many guys can be Aaron Donald.
Exactly. People also forget Aaron Donald at 285 ran a 4.68. 35 reps of 225 and had a 7.11 3 cone. The guy is a freak athlete. Strong like bull and fast like horse.

Osa is pushing almost 290 and can absolutely play 1 tech. I remember folks saying the same thing about Jay Ratliff too, then they became his biggest fan until he lost his mind
Jay seemed a little wider. Ay we'll see, homie. Maybe he can pull it off. I just wouldn't bank on it.

Yes. I am well aware a journeyman glue guy is what Urban is who is a solid rotation piece. Not someone who you depend on to start. The problem is that is as good as it gets in Dallas.

There wasn't a single 1-technique in this draft with true starter level quality., Alim McNeil is the closest thing to it and he was taken at #72. He'll be a two down lineman. Every team has "starters" on the interior D-Line, but the type of player that you seem to have wanted simply didn't exist in this draft unless you wanted to take Alim at 44.

There just aren't many Vince Wilfork and Ted Washingtons in the NFL universe.

I like the roster overall when healthy. I just wish we had a run stopping DT. D-law and the lb ers will have to be super human to stop the run. We may not even get to rush the passer if those young DTs don't step up. I like both especially Neville. He has a chance to be really good as long as he doest take a step back.

Between Gallimore, Hill (cough cough), and our 3rd rounder this year, hopefully we can get one quality starter at the 3 technique. The starting DT from Chicago we signed is definitely an upgrade in the run stopping department. Looks like he is starting at 1 Tech.

I actually really like how our nickel is shaping up. Keanu, Cox, Parsons.........people will think twice about coming over the middle. Those guys are all upgrades in the pass defense and the run defense. Also gives us tons of flexibility with lineups. Diggs should be better and if Joseph doesnt quit and become a rapper he looks like a play making upgrade at the other corner spot.

I am interested in seeing Bohanna and if he can keep his motor high. I am willing to give the rookies a try to see what they can do.
