Overall, I think this draft lacks a lot of sure things.

With the 10th pick in basically every round, we sure did draft a lot of boom or bust players. That usually doesn't work out for us. We basically drafted guys like we had no shot at the good players. Which wasn't true

I do like some of the guys they drafted, but they wasted the third round

It is all on Quinn basically , he has to fix the defense with what he inherited, and use the new drat picks , to make the defense top 15. to have chance to go to the playoffs and CCG and beyond .
The offense should be humming kellen Moore will be in charge for a while . The question here is what MM is going to contribute or disrupt . We have seen what MM has , pretty much old theories and washed up coaching friends .

I was never on the ledge, didn't like the third round at all but only time will tell if the front office was correct in their evaluations. I don't worry one bit about what this team does on or off the field any more. I'll do what I have been doing for about the last 10 years hope for the best, expect the worst, and let it go when they lose or don't do what I want them to. Much better way to live.

Things were critical after yesterday.. Did today bring some of y’all back in the building?
Blimey!
Been on the ledge for a quarter of a century!
Just like old times.
still waiting for those 500 other HCs who could win a Lombardini.

The reality is that if 3-4 picks work out it’s a good draft. We may not have taken the best consensus picks but with all those picks we don’t need much to fall our way for the draft to work out.

Our defense can't get any worse, no matter who we drafted, so....there's that.

I’m actually more excited now. Judging from Stephens comments don’t be surprised to see a lot of Vets cut off of this defense. They saw one of the worst defenses ever last season and they decided they needed major changes. It’s going to be open competition!

With the exception of the 3rd round, I'm excited. I think this was a different kind of draft, and I attribute that to Quinn and McCarthy.
I'm even going to stick my neck out and say I think the days of 8-8 are over. I see something in this draft, I think it's the start of a new direction. I hope they don't make a liar out of me.
What you said about a lot of vets being cut.......I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Not impressed but whatever, no different then every other year. You also have to remember that every other team has improved as well (with the exception of the Giants O line, hahahaha). But we improved our secondary (maybe) and Giants added two top WR’s and a good vet TE. The eagles added Adams. The Giants really went big on defense this year which sure me since they were close to top 10 last year and we did nothing on offense but get our O line back.

Who knows what will happen, no matter what the analysts say. As far as drafting players too early or players not of need, that’s on the team.
You’re not fooling anyone man. People know you’re a giants fan, no matter how many times you pick one thing to say bad about them.

Draft doesn’t change my expectations.

Mediocre season.. Win the division cause it sucks.. 50/50 chance we win our wildcard.. Eliminated by a real NFL team a week later if we win the wildcard.

Maybe. The “real teams” are all in the AFC, especially if Rodgers holds true to his threats in Green Bay.

It’s the things that we aren’t worrying about that will probably be a problem. I really think that Zeke is done, he has hit the running back wall. The offensive line is not what it was; Conner Williams is a liability and they did nothing to replace him (Slater would have filled that gap) and Tyron Smith can’t make it through a 16-game season let alone a 17-game one plus playoffs.

I think that this draft improved the defense and, you’re right, that’s enough to win a lousy division. Probably. If they do, it’s not inconceivable that they win a home wildcard game and upset another team in a bad NFC.

But this team isn’t going to be a contender until they add more playmakers.

Going into the draft I had some goals Get some ballhawks in the secondary, upgrade the pass rush, improve our turnover ratio, and get better against the run. Looking at these guys stats was a bit of a surprise to me but it looks like if they can translate it to the NFL we landed some playmakers.

Cox had 3 ints 1 sack and 3.5 tackles for loss (in one season)
Joseph had 4 ints (in one season)
Parsons had 5 sacks 18 tackles for loss and 6 forced fumbles
Osa Odighizuwa had 11.5 sacks and 27.5 tackles for a loss and 2 forced fumbles
Chauncey Golston had 27 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks and 3 ints.
Nahshon wright had 5 ints
Israel Mukuamu had 7 ints

I know how he does on the field is what matters but I really enjoyed this interview with Chauncey Golston.

After seeing that the defense is changing, I got much happier with the draft. The players taken make a lot more sense with the new scheme than a Marinelli style 4/3, which is what I thought Dallas was going to. While I think they reached several times and could have actually had a better draft, I think they improved the team this weekend. I have gone from being on the ledge to sitting comfortably in my chair.

except the OL didn’t get any help.

we passed on Slater.

We lose one T and we are back to Steele or Knight.

with all the problems we had last season, you’d think they would get some help.

Yep you pretty much sum it up.

Chargers look ready to roll next season. I like their draft and if Herbert continues his progress then they will be playing with a borderline top 5 QB on a rookie contract.

Other than some bottom of the depth chart guys or new FA we just signed there aren’t many I see getting cut other than Armstrong, maybe hill
But guys like Gifford never really was more than camp wonders
But some vets should see the writing on the wall going forward for sure
They really went after high effort guys and that is the first step in changing the culture here
LVE and Jaylon are probably getting a long job interview for their next teams
But maybe that’s the best thing for anyone who does get cut. In the nfl the majority of players are always on the verge of getting cut if they aren’t giving 100% on the field and in preparation and practice
A nervous player, worrying about his job is what you want on most of your roster
