3-4 in base means that Parsons is basically a 3-4 OLB in those situations. Shaded outside Lawrence that is going to be disruptive.

We are going to see a very different role for the SOLB this year. We are used to that being a Damien Wilson type who comes off in passing downs. Parsons definitely plays passing downs - he's clearly our best cover LB. Likely sends Jaylon to the bench in the nickel. Seems clear that Jaylon and Layton and in a battle to see who stays.

Parsons can't cover. Neal was brought in specifically to fill that role. Parsons will still be on the field, but if you try to make him into a coverage linebacker you just wasted a pick.
