The Cowboys could have got Barmore and Moehrig/Joseph

Have you watched Barmore play? He's hot and cold, never started and was drafted too early.
Not only that but his primary position is 3 tech and we already have a 2nd and a 3 rd invested there and I just don’t think the cowboys are ready to throw the towel in on those 2 picks just yet

Barmore was never in the table IMO. I think folks get caught up in the school they came from and watched them play in a big game or 2 and then feel like they are this savior for our team

I have some question marks on the 3rd round but I’m not gonna bash it just yet.I’m ok with OSA but the last 2 I scratch my head on.

was wondering if they see a FS in Wright

Not sure about the fascination with Barmore, he barely played in obvious run downs and only was in around 50% of the snaps. Unfortunately we kind of were forced to take a corner in round 2 without getting Horn or Surtain.

To some, it's as simple as any player Dallas didn't draft just to dump on the front office. They have WAY more info on players than we do and even all the mock draft experts.

I think it's funny when certain fans always think they know better. WE all have our preferences but who actually thinks they know better?

Moehrig has back issues and Barmore was a an inconsistent situational player who didn’t even start in college.
The Barmore suck fest is so nauseating, dude wasn’t even a starter sheesh. He’ll be a solid starter/rotational guy in NE and those of us who didn’t slobber over him will be asking CZ where the Barmore love went.

New England traded their 46th, 122nd and 139th picks to the Cincinnati Bengals for the right to Barmore at 38. We could have offered 44, 115, and 138 for Barmore.

The Cowboys could have packaged their three 3rd picks (which look like Jags) = 489 points which is equal to the 42 pick. IMO the Niners might have done it for 43 since they gave up so much future draft capital.

Quality > Quantity. Parsons, Barmore, and Moehrig/Joseph would have been a blue chip draft.
Barmore needs a babysitter. Quinn is drafting self motivators

In terms of motor, Odighizuwa is better than Barmore. Barmore has better physical tools, but then again, so does Trysten Hill.

The only thing I can figure is they didn't like those guys as much as we did, because there's no way anyone wouldn't have done that otherwise right?
when defense sucks this year the FO and their defenders will say, they tried, what more do you want ?

We’ll see. Barmore’s entire resume is built on physical measurements. He only started 6 games in two seasons and he’s considered pretty raw. Maybe he develops into a pro bowl caliber player, maybe not.

People anointing him as some kind of Aaron Donald simply because we didn’t get him, need to slow their roll.

he’s not the 1-tech people were crying for anyway.

Yeah thats a good barometer. Not DL but I also remember stories of the Pats were gonna take Jaylon also. Lol, hope that makes you feel better.

After that draft the Pats made an official statement that they never considered drafting Jaylon. But if making up stuff makes you feel better...lol.

The middle at all 3 levels would have been solidified with Parsons, Barmore, and Moehrig. SMH.
You wouldn't get Barmore and Moehrig. You only got pick 38 in the proposed trade.

I said before the draft that this was the year for Jerry Jones to be Jerry Jones.

Once they traded down and got Parsons they had all kinds of ammunition to trade back up and get a guy in the #33 to #40 range without even spending the #44 pick.

I'm not even going to insist that they should have drafted a specific player, the point is that they could have gotten three true impact players.

That would have been 3 players in the top 50 which I think is better than 5 players in the top 100. The Cowboys had enough extra picks to where it wouldn't have been quality vs. quantity, we could have had both.

Besides getting Parsons and Joseph, the Cowboys could have picked up Barmore, Moerigh, or some other top tier defender. Instead, the Cowboys went for quantity and Stephen Jones hinted that it was because they needed cheap contracts due to Dak's salary.

I suppose they didn't realize that you can either get players on cheap contracts or you eliminate the players with large contracts. Getting 3 players in the top 50 may have given them better leverage to do both.

I scratch my head and wonder what some here eat or drink that makes them think they are God's gift to draft gurus, NFL scouts, coaches and GM's. I'm also trying to remember when or if there has been a time that a team gave up THREE draft picks for a 2nd round pick. Now belicheat usually doesn't make mistakes but if he all of a sudden decided to jump off a cliff, does that mean the GM's of the other teams should do that too? Unless a team is one player away from going to the Super Bowl, then I've never been a fan of using multiple draft picks for a single player, especially when the team has multiple needs and needs all of their picks to try to fill those needs.
.
.

You gotta be kidding. You are questioning Belechek while dismissing any criticism of the cowboy draft? The question you SHOULD be asking is why Belechek wanted this kid and what we didn't see in him.

Or the defensive tackles that they actually drafted could turn out better than Barmore and Joesph could turn out to be the best corner in the draft. We will have to wait and see.
Absolutely. Nobody knows when someone will or won't be drafted but I bet NFL teams have a better idea than us fans. That's why you see teams "reach" on players and players that fans swore wouldn't be available later is in fact available later.

This could be a great draft or terrible draft but everybody should chill and let them play it out first.

I would have never guessed Marvin Wilson and Ar'darius Washington would have been available much less undrafted. I was surprised Jabril Cox was available in the 4th.

I'm excited to see these guys in preseason
