Apparently Cowboys had Georgia CB Tyson Campbell as a better graded CB prospect than Kentucky's Kelvin Joseph,.
Some thought Campbell was an even better prospect than his teammate Eric Stokes who went earlier in the 1st round
(and another that I was hoping to draft before either Campbell or Joseph)

I had skeptics about Campbell being a ball hawk and wonder if he was yet another who doesn’t locate ball well while in turn n’ go long coverage.

- But from all that I have read and heard from Joseph, from his 4.34 40 speed, his 4 INTs in 2020, his length and his grade vs Bama heralded WRs,
I was completely on board with the selection of Johnson. Hopefully it won’t become a diva issue with him.
Dunno when Joseph can become ready to start come regular season time, and but we really need one vs Brown/Lewis likes.
If not Game one, eventually earlier in the year.

Love the talent, but I wonder about his character issues within the Cowboys culture. In Baltimore or New England, he'd be a model citizen and standout. I don't know about in Dallas.
But, I gotta roll with it. Nothing I can do.

Talented player but definitely needs to mature and develop on a personal basis in addition to the field!

He definitely has the skills to be solid.

Would have rather been aggressive to get the TCU safety but I’m fine with this. Good pick.

the TCU safety seemed like a normal good guy, until he started going on about his love of Reptiles !
He loves snakes and any form of reptile!
Then he said he found out he can buy baby alligators , lol and now wants to raise a alligator in his back yard !:omg:
Imagine what he would do with a few million dollars lol.
So he isnt quite right in the head either.

Evidently his parents thought all this was ok as a kid lol

I can see it now lol, pool cleaner eaten by NFL players pet alligator!
Or NFL CB loses leg in pet alligator incident

Yes......there was a time many here favored Farley at 10. Why...... coz we need CB with speed opposite of Diggs. Joseph gives us that w/o the injury risk and the best part, we selected a day-one starting LBer at 10.

I can care less about the kid's so-called second career as a rapper. Hell, Tony Romo had one as a golfer never heard one complaint. As long as the kid takes care of business on Sunday, cool by me.
Hey Hawkeye- perhaps Joseph has the focus and drive to do good at both.
Too often NFL fans just absorb the players' football ability - but don't think about how their lives away from the sport carry equal weight.
How successful and \ or tranquil an NFLer's life away from the gridiron often affects his play on it ---- positively or negatively.

I like snakes. They're awesome! I know I'm portraying a mongoose, but I like snakes. I've long wanted a pet ball pythons. That being said, I do has to protect from cobras:

Read report this kid has six albums ........anyway you cut it, that's some serious songwriting. Honestly, I think it's great he's spending time away from football advancing his musical career.

We got the 3rd most talented CB at pick 44. That's pretty good talent.

Pro Football Focus rated Joseph the 7th best CB in this draft, only behind the five guys that were highly touted from the start - Sustain II, Horn, Farley, Newsome, Samuel Jr. Aaron Robinson from UCF was the sixth player evaluated as better.

Wow - that is serious dedication to the craft.
The NFL past and present has numerous players doing greater things beyond playing --- because playing will be a short endeavor - 5 years or less - for 97% of the particpants.

but we could have had Holland or Grant if that was the case

we just ignored the position and that idiot Stephen made a joke about it during the PC which shows us their mindset
Stephen took a shot at the media and it went straight over their heads He got um and they did not even realize they just got got

The talent is undeniable but he's had issues with two coaching staffs and he thinks he's a rapper.

I'd have gone in a different direction.
Just bad luck for the kid. Join two programs and both coaching staffs suck. No such problem here.

There are so many red flags it looks like one of those massive N. Korean military parades.

Youngest player drafted this year was focused on a rap career, played in only 15 college games, transferred from one school to another after suspension, .opted out before the end of the season in 2020....I hope he is focused on football and changes his attitude before showing up. off field issues and attude problems are absolutely the last thing the Cowboys need.

I've always been more about productivity than physical measurables. The most important aspect of a player, I feel, is what's in his heart. Does he love football? How badly does he want to win, not only for himself, but for his teammates?

Having said that, what could the Cowboys do? This draft was the complete opposite of last year's, nothing fell to them, everything they wanted was taken from them just before their picks.

I don't like the pick but I'm okay with it. I understand the circumstances. Joseph does have elite talent, it's just being operated by a rather immature mindset but that could change. I hope someone there takes him under their wing.
