I believe he ran a 4.62 40 at his proday. Might be why he fell???

He will get a chance in preseason (maybe) to show himself. He will at least get a chance in practice.

Not trying to sound like a homer but Im a Hawkeyes fan here in Iowa and Smith is a player....He played with a horrible QB last year and in a conservative offense but he's a playmaker...See what happens with him

And He's not a burner but he doesn't need to be...Im really getting tired of 40 times meaning everything in how these guys get drafted

I haven't scouted him much. What are his strengths and weaknesses from what you've seen?
He's very physical....Throw the ball up and he'll grab it...He is actually a good run blocker too because Iowa likes to run the ball but he ain't fast....Not a whole lot of burst....People don't like hearing that at receiver but I like his toughness and definitely could be a red zone threat

Hmm, I like the thought of a physical threat at WR. We have plenty of speed as it is. Let me ask you this, do you think he might be capable of being a TE?

I’m sensing a pattern here.

Brandon Smith, 6’2 215lbs
T.J. Vasher, 6’6, 216lbs
Osirus Mitchell 6’4, 210lbs
Simi Fehoko 6’4, 220lbs
Brennan Eagles, 6’4 229lbs

Are these guys receivers or tight ends? No midgets allowed. Same thing with the corners.

For the record, the smallest of the bunch is still taller than Amari, Lamb and Gallup.

You know not a bad thought

The reason I say that is cuz we have a lot of WRs, but I wouldn't mind seeing him as a 3rd TE to replace Bell. I think he'd have better odds at making the team that way. You stated he's a good run blocker, which we'd need for a TE. He's a good pass catcher. He'd probably have to bulk up, but I was thinking that could work. If he has to spend time on the PS (which he probably will), maybe he could focus more on being a TE.

or maybe a bit of a tweener? He could replace Noah Brown in that way. Just trying to think outside the box for how we could try to fit him in.

I like to see the Cowboys gathering receivers in the likely event this is Michael Gallup's last season here.

Wouldn't mind seeing what happens. Those WRs that are on the PS should prepare as though they will get a starting job next year. THis could make things even more fascinating.

My buddy is from Iowa and so I watch a lot of Iowa tape. This guy is a beast. I actually like him better than this Stanford WR we drafted.
