I know because absolutely no one wants him. Again Aldon Smith was 5 years removed. Aldon Smith's problems were outside of the football locker room. He was not someone who was cut by one of the more respected organizations for being a locker-room disaster. Everything you have seen about him suggests a player you want nowhere near your locker room and nowhere near the football field. The fact that they felt confident enough that they could void his guarantees and win, something that is almost never done, tells you all you need to know about what he would bring to your team.

Aldon Smith was a bigger risk to sign than ET would be . You keep bringing up the locker room issue as if that's the only risk that matters. Smith was arrested for multiple DUI, possession of an assault weapons, false bomb threats, and Domestic Violence incidents and was out of football for 5 years. Player who was out of football for 5 years is much bigger risk to sign than someone who has been out of football for only 1 season.

He was released by SF and the Raiders. The Raiders who would sign anyone no other team wants. No one wanted Aldon Smith yet he was our best pass rusher for the first half of the season and had no off field/on field incidents while he was here.

All of those things happened to him 5 years prior and all of those things would make him not available to play football. What they would not do is make him a net negative to have around outside of those issues. He was released due to those issues and then 5 years passed where everything was quiet. That is enough time to see if he can play because the last time he played he was elite.

Earl Thomas is less than a year removed from being thrown off a team (being cut does not do it justice) for a host of actions that make your team worse off for having him around. There is zero reason to believe he would not act exactly the same way. He is done. NO ONE wanted him because having an average safety, which at this point is what he is, is not worth having someone in your locker room who can just decide skip practice and meetings, completely ignore the playbook, pick fights with the team, and manage to be one of the few people who gets cut for conduct detrimental. You let that kind of person in than you send the message that its okay to be that and that sort of thing can break a locker room apart in a hurry.

He made his choice and his choices are why he is done in the NFL. He is older TO. His production no longer justifies the headache and even at his best he was not in the same league as TO.

Aldon Smith was consider a complete nut case. There was no reason to believe he would get better with time. If anything, he could have gotten worse.
And the fact he hasn't played football for 5 years made it a bigger risk than signing ET. 5 years is a long time in any pro sports but more so for football due to its physical nature.

Also you believe that ET getting cut from Ravens is a bigger deal. The fact that Ravens are a quality organization, it makes sense they will cut anyone for smaller things than a team like the Raiders. I would have bigger concern about a player getting released by the Raiders for non football reasons than a player getting cut by the Ravens.

You have proof it was completely made up. Go watch Lee's video and his comments after Dez called him a snake. SMH.

You want me to provide proof your claim is completely made up?

You: “A spaghetti monster lives on my roof!”

Me: “That’s completely made up.”

You: “Provide proof that I made it up!!!”

Anyways, I thought you were talking about his time with the Ravens.

I'd be fine with Thomas and Wright under Quinn. But as we know, the Cowboys recipe for a Super Bowl is through the draft alone.
