Both highly talented players coming out of college, both have had injury impact their career in some fashion. Both underachieving and only have 1 good full year of tape. Both put on notice with the drafting if Parsons and Cox.

Who outperforms who?

LVE is in a contract year. So, I’m going with LVE because Jaylon Smith isn’t getting cut no matter how bad he plays. Part of Jerry’s yacht crew, like Crawford.

Now, if Jerry does something mind-boggling stupid and sign LVE long term to a monstrous contract before the season, all bets are off.

If Quinn can schematically put all three of these guys (Parsons) in position to excel. Watch out. Both LVE and Jaylon have their pros and cons, but let’s not forget each have a pro bowl to their name and are still young. Why not both!

Can't be productive if you are hanging with the trainers for a good part of the season. For that reason I give the nod to Smith. I think both will have a bounce back year, but Jaylon will play in all 17 games and LVE will play in 12 max.

Jaylon will have the better stats... cause he Cherry Picks tackles. But LVE is the better LB when healthy.

The likelihood is Smith will continue to struggle and LVE will continue to be injured and/or be inconsistent. So it's a wash and both players will be gone after 2021.

Fortunately unlike previous years, we have young rookie studs and a relatively young vet(Neal) who can fill in if either(or both) player deserves to be benched.

I think they both will be better, parsons and neal , cox, will light a fire under both.
They have some competition now, and their jobs are less secure. New DC, new scheme.
Lve and jaylon should both be healthy to start the season, after that I dont know.
Lve is playing for a contract here or on another team, so he best turn it on.

we got two guys who haven't played a down yet but I'm excited for our LB crew and last year they made me want to puke. If all play up to par we could have 2018 all over again. to answer your question Ill say LVE by a long shot .His problem is availability more than ability.

Jaylon is just the opposite

LVE is a much better player and they really shouldn’t even be in the same discussion.
