There is no place for him on the Cowboys. probably at least 2 of the current group get cut.
I'd agree there's no place on the field for him, the way our roster looks. His biggest contribution would be the tips and tricks he'd pass along to the kiddos at DT before he inevitably gets cut or lands himself on the injured list.

Does Dallas still have the rights on this guy? It looks like the answer is no.

If he still wants to play, and Tampa Bay wouldn't flip him a fish, does this guy bring anything to the table?

Since so many are still wringing hands about the interior defensive line.
There it is.
Our infatuation with have-beens and hoping for continued mediocrity.

From the looks of things, it seems likely that Gerald McCoy's body has broken down. If that's not enough to persuade you, his age and lack of success in the recent past should resolve any doubts to be had. The young DT candidates who are currently in house, seemingly, bear more promise. McCoy's presence would likely hinder the team as a progress stopper. I also believe the days of his being a positive influence are at an end.

The young guys need reps and playing time but I rather look at a guy like Geno Atkins if we require a vet at the position.

Obviously the deal has to be fair and a d-line of Demarcus Lawrence, Neville Gallimore, Geno Atkins and Randy Gregory with our LB’s behind them looks pretty darn good to me.

I know Atkins isn’t in his prime and didn’t have a full season last year but the first 8 games of the season while Hill and/or the other young DT’s are developing to the league and Quinn’s scheme is a nice transition.

Thus the fair deal for both sides.
