Blazing 4.3 speed,.. ball hawk skills,. INT production, ..able to play both man and zone coverages,- (even Byron Jones couldn’t do that and Jones certainly could not INT the ball)
- It’s not just about Johnson's blazing 4.34 40 time, but how he can translate that great speed into great sound coverage, how competitive and confident he can be to
know no fear from any top WR, but so confident he can shadow and shut down the top WRs.
From everything I've heard and observed he has the physical tools and potential to eventually develop into and become one of the true top CBs in the entire NFL.
- There’s a chance that Johnson could potentially even be a better CB than Diggs… I don't think Diggs can jam-press and go 50-60 yards hip to hip with top speedsters such as DJ Metcalf, or Washington's Terry McLaurin
But of course the baby steps comes first,.....
- But I did wonder what it was in Georgia CBs Eric Stokes and Tyson Campbell that they like over Kelvin Johnson ? Pure Ability ? …Or less risk character issues ?
I’d like to see game tapes of the Georgia CBs having to defend-cover the Bama WRs like Kelviin Johnson did.
- From what I read, ‘Bama was targeted just 3 times and they still couldn't take advantage of him,. in turn he took advantage of them.
there’s impressive was game tape of Johnson going hip to hip on a deep fly go route with top WR prospect Dovante Smith, ..en route to an overpowering INT by Johnson into the end zone.
Dovante couldn’t shake him- and imagine what their duel battles with each other will be in this NFC East
- Maybe Johnson is not as game experienced as Surtain, Horn, Farley or the Georgia CBs, or he's as complete and consistent player as of right now,
-and media likes maybe already scrambling to try to dig into his character background, as it’s tied into the reasons why he departed LSU in his very early college days,
and if he is truly committed to football.
- But if you put aside the lack of game experience and past character issues aside,.. and key on his pure football ability; you’d see that Johnson could’ve been just as
right there with the other CBs that went in the 1st round.
