"Character issues" is such a broad and subjective term. IDGAF as long as he develops into a good corner. I don't understand why some people are obsessed with judging other's personal lives...

Here I'll break down his "lyrics"
N word, n word, n word, n word,..on my grind
N word, n word, n word, n word...I got my 9
N word, n word, n word, n word, ....all the time
N word, n word, n word, n word, cuz I'm on my grind
lol , makes me wonder about his brain power. Rap isnt about brilliance though rhymes and a beat is all it is.

Wow, Bossman Fat needs to hang out the mic. This is trash. He couldn't hold Cole Beasley's microphone.

I'm not trying to be mean but he looks developmentally disabled in this video. He doesn't look all there and the production value looks like an iPhone was used. Oh and the lyrics are just awful.

Yeah Kelvin stick to football because your musical career will not get you anywhere.

Lol, are you saying that song is a good song? No way. I could care less what he does in his free time. But that's song is trash. He can make as much music as his heart desires. He can go on tour and do whatever on his free time as long as it doesn't affect his play on the field. I could care less, but if he drops football to rap then he's not a smart guy. Go back and read my post. I never said he shouldn't do it, I just said he shouldn't let his rap career hurt his football career, and I said he looked stupid doing it.

Why are you getting so defensive over this? It's not like I'm insulting you. You need to get over it.

Yeah great stuff there, put that on auto tunes and that's his song. Seriously, that is trash, I like hip hop and that's something I would never listen to. I hope for his sake he puts everything he has into football.

I was GREATLY disturbed by his frequent use of the N-word. :(

I don't care if it was 10 years ago. I can't tolerate a person who puts his hands on a woman multiple times.

I guess I'm more forgiving and believe people can change and deserve a second chance.

The kid has questions (character and experience), for sure. But, what isn't at question is the kid's ball skills. That alone has me intrigued. Assuming Quinn will run the same coverages that made him a viable HC option while with Seattle.

I've heard a number of people complaining about this pick.. This guy blanketed pretty much anybody he faced and reportedly sports blazing speed enough to run with anybody including Tyreke Hill. People seem bent outta shape over the whole "rap career" thing.. which I suppose might be a thing.. but unless his music gets a lot better he's not going to make enough money from it to quit football. He's hardly the first player to have interests outside football.. Given the receivers the Eagles and Giants drafted and let's not forget McLaurin in DC having a guy who is as fast as any of them can only be a plus. Watching how effortlessly he runs stride for stride with the Bama Heisman trophy winner is eye opening to say the least. I'm looking forward to watching teams try him deep.. cause I don't think it's going to work out that well for them..

I dont know about his behavior at the first school but i did watch his interviews and he seems like a nice guy! I was expecting a totally different character. We may have lucked out. Cowboys say they did their homework Im good.

Yes, yes exactly. I think that's the part that bothered me the most. Look if he wants to rap one syllable for a whole song then that's fine. I swear he must have said the n word roughly 100-150 times. The first word that came to my mind was "ignorant". I honestly wouldn't even have shared my opinion of his music or been so hard on him if he makes the exact song without using the N word.

That really, really bothered me. You said it great. It was disturbing how much he said the N word. Not a good look at all.

My reservations have nothing to do with talent or interests outside of football.

My reservations are toward his supposed character issues. Two programs saw him as a bigger headache than he was worth, despite the great talent.

The original post here is sort of disingenuous. It’s very clear what the concerns for this player are
I feel ya. Hopefully he matured.

I would have liked more game experience. Joseph only played in 15 college games. The games were divided between two different schools with a non-playing year sandwiched in between.

Joseph was the youngest player taken in this year's draft, he declared as a redshirt sophomore.

So the Cowboys either drafted the Kobe Bryant of NFL defensive players or a kid that should have stayed in school another year.

He may be great in the future but in the present he is a raw rookie that will be challenged in many areas that he never had to worry about.

Character issues do matter and arguing with coaches, violating team rules, and then quitting the team before the end of the season indicates a lack of dedication, discipline, commitment, focus, priorities, and willingness to fight to the end......the exact areas in which he will be challenged in the NFL

hes apparently never truly listened to the little Wayne crews and Fetty wapp etc etc type of new age type of really not great artistical rap..its just good beats and tunes with pretty bad nonsensical lyrics..

rap is no longer really anywhere near as good as the 80/90s and some early 2k stuff with real messages and some thought brought into the lyrics..

Is there someone on yall's lawn? LOL! .. I've never been a huge fan of rap but it's true some of the stuff from the 80's and 90's was pretty good. Digital Underground wrote some funky stuff.. Tupac and Biggie are way overrated because they died but both made some good music. Obviously NWA and the South Central crew took rap in a darker direction but they made some good music too when they weren't bashing cops and talking about all the ways they wanted to mistreat women.. Much of what passes for rap is just idiot kids doing what this kid is doing, which is following a lame musical formula and saying as many offensive things as they can come up with so as to seem "edgy." Most of the lyrics are completely nonsensical and without context or any real meaning. I was in college when rap hit the scene and the very first song to feature it was an absolute jam.. If you ever want to hear how rap is supposed to sound go find "King Tim III" by the Fatback Band from 1978.. If all rap had stuck with this formula I would probably love the hell out of it. But when they started stealing other people's music (sampling) and creating these fake tough guy personas they lost me.

hmm why you so passive aggressive, seems like you are in agreement yet also getting good jab in..lol

imm51 grew up with the old school rap and like it much better but some of the new stuff has great beats and tunes some flow outside of the lyrics so i crank the bass like Bubblebutt is glass rattler LOL not great song but catchy..

Maybe some fans just don't want him competing with ex-Cowboy Cole Beasley, for the teams history of best rapper. :lmao:

Just think if a QB made a C&W album to compete with Troy. Whoa...:muttley:

Honestly, most fans don't don their own homework on players. They hear what the media and some scouts say we should take . That determines it all for them. Joseph is a top 3 CB in this draft and top 20 player overall
Yeah, like Gregory and Hardy, that off the field stuff don't matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
