Micah Parsons, Keanu Neal, Jabril Cox, Kelvin Joseph, Osa Odighizuwa- we have some defenders now that can hit, instill fear in opposing ballcarriers, and go all out on every snap.

I love Dan Quinn's culture change.

Best thing they did was go all in with the defense.

Maybe you need to have a screw loose to play this game on the biggest stage. It's a violent sport that takes it's toll on your body. The object is to control another individual who may be just as talented as you are with his own idea of how this physical altercation will play out. It comes down to a test of will, how far are you willing to push yourself. In football maybe the sweet spot between control and out of control is called optimum performance.

Call them what you want but this team could certainly use a Charles Haley and a Eric Williams on both sides of the ball.

Dane mocked this guy to us in the first round next year.

And no more of this Hot Boyz, grab the bag garbage.

On D you need animals, not male club performers.
Tell me about it.
Every time I heard that nickname Id get this creepy pic in my head of grown men with cowboy cheerleader hot pants and lipstick on.
Yes....very disturbing visual.
:lmao:

Just having mean dogs won't get it done. Need mean dogs smart enough to know their roles and responsibilities.
A lot of last year's problems on defense were because the players were too stupid to even understand a high school defensive scheme.

GOOD, and be gone with this Hotboyz nonsense.
No D should have a brand until they have destroyed and accomplished something significant.

But Hot Boyz? I'd rather the Purple People Eaters even after people only know the pop song by Sheb Wooley and the disgustingly awful 1988 movie with Little Richard in a role that will move you to a confessional after you murdered no one.

“If you wanna a great defense you have to have a team full of goons, but you gotta have to have the right zookeeper that is the D coordinator. Meaning he can’t be afraid of those personalities and those guys that are on the edge because the greatest defenses.....I’m sure Brian can attest to it... you got to have a couples guys who have a couple of screws loose that you have to reign them back in. It is easier to reign them back in then it is to get the poker and say let’s go play hard. And so, I like the personality now does Dan Quinn have the personality control all that and not have them play silly football. Get them to play at the line, not over the line.” Bucky Brooks

The 90's Cowboys have been sanitized by time. That was the ultimate goon squad at their best.

There was no social media or internet when the Cowboys last had a good crop of "Goons" that had to be managed. It wasn't just Jimmy doing it.

Yep.. I’m all for wrong kind of guys.

I think some of the things Parsons was accused of are just a little too far out there but if the Cowboys are ok with it and he’s good at football than so am I.

A lot of last year's problems on defense were because the players were too stupid to even understand a high school defensive scheme.

Before the season, McCarthy made some long speech about tailoring the scheme to the players. He then puts in some ultra complicated read and react hybrid defense in place with a group of low IQ defenders . . . with no preseason.

It was a train wreck waiting to happen and it really exposed McCarthy as all talk and little thought.

Marinelli's scheme was too simple. Opposing QB's knew exactly where the openings were going to be before the snap. Last year, the pendulum went way too far the other way. I hope Quinn puts in a relatively simple, attacking defense where the defenders don't have to think much, with just enough wrinkles that opposing QB's get confused from time to time.
