Already moving the goalpost. That didn’t take long.
There is no goalpost moving. All my comments match up. It's not my fault my original post on Parsons was taken as anti-Parsons, it wasn't. I just don't buy the hype being presented. He can be a contributor but he's not going to be great. That's not a slam on him.

Said with heavy sarcasm....he dropped an INT so he's not a ball hawk. Saw more than one tackle that was 5-7 yards downfield. I keep hearing on this board that that is a bad thing for a LB. Saw him get stone walled on a blitz, so he stinks at that too.

seriously, he's very talented and I hope he plays like that every Sunday. Chances are games like that will be few and far between during his first season, but he has the makings of a really good NFL LB.

This is the bowl game that Parsons played in at AT&T Stadium.

If you haven’t watched his highlights from this game you should take about 11 minutes to watch what this guy can do. It is only highlights from that one game but he makes quite a few plays in it.

It is easy to see the blistering speed that he plays with and even though he’s still just figuring LB out, his instincts for finding the ball and negotiating through traffic on the way to the QB are very good. He has a real knack for getting home on the pass rush. When he decides to go… he moves with rare suddenness and explosion.

Keep in mind that he is just a true Sophomore here and this is just highlights from one game. Phenomenal talent.

That's one amazing game from that guy. Impressive to say the least.

You said he’s most likely going to fade and that you’re not sold on him. Now you’re saying you think he’ll be good. Which is it? That’s goalpost moving.

Not every player gets painted with the high expectations that he is receiving. It's a lot of pressure to measure up too. I remain skeptical and you can remain fooled. You will be disappointed and I will say I told you so. Jerry Jones is a snake oil salesman and this player is nothing but snake oil.

One critic didn’t like the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s album. He became famous for being wrong.

I suspect you will be wrong and Parsons will shine if he can stay healthy, but admire that you took a stand.

Looked like he got hurt early on by friendly fire. I thought he might have been concussed. Glad to see he played through whatever it was.

What's crazy is he's barely played Linebacker. I think he started in college, so he still has a lot of perfecting of technique and learning the position to improve even further.

So much to like in that game. He made numerous plays that if he doesn't make them, it could've been a big play. Made the game changing play in the 3rd quarter when Memphis had the ball to take the lead. Seems to have a skill for getting the ball out.

You can be excited about him and think he's going to be great, while still being reasonable and not expecting his peak in his rookie season. Suh is the last time I remember a college defensive player being so dominant.

Sure looks like @JoeKing is getting pawned, or is it pwned.

Took a bold position and is now moving goalposts, hedging bets, and squirming when confronted. Better to stick to your guns and be wrong than weasel.

We will soon see. The 2021 draft has so many what-ifs for a lot of teams, not just the Cowboys.

We shall see if Pitts is the generational talent some say he is.

Love Pitts and he is going to a great passing game and has other weapons around him. With Julio Jones probably moving on this year or next year, he will get plenty of balls his way very soon.

But we didnt need him. We needed defense. Falcons are in desperate need of OL. They may have been better served taking Sewel. They need defense and OL bad and they took a TE.

One of Micah’s biggest concerns in the draft, is that he is kind of inexperienced at LB. only playing the position for 2 seasons. Plus he has been off for a year.

having said all that.

he got better and better and better his entire time at penn state. Showing a positive trajectory his entire time there, capped off by having his best game be the last game he played in college.

so if you have an inexperienced player, it’s at least good to see that they are consistently improving with experience.

and that’s what we have with Parsons. Along with his absolutely freak, elite, athletic talent.

There is no contradiction there. He stood out in the cotton bowl highlight reel. In the NFL he will not stand out like that. How would describe it? I used the word "fade". That doesn't mean he won't be good, it just means he won't stand out. No goalpost moving at all.

If I were Atlanta, I wasn’t passing on Pitts. My guess is there will be maybe 3-4 OL in this draft better than Sewell.

I prefer BPA in the draft. Drafting for immediate and pressing needs leads to reaching and poor drafts.

Nope, I firmly stand by my original position on Parsons. He is hyped way too much right now. I'm still skeptical. He may turn out to be good but he will never stand out in the NFL the way he did in that cotton bowl highlight reel.
