If I were Atlanta, I wasn’t passing on Pitts. My guess is there will be maybe 3-4 OL in this draft better than Sewell.

I prefer BPA in the draft. Drafting for immediate and pressing needs leads to reaching and poor drafts.

Not with the 4th pick it doesnt lead to reaching.

And Im not going over this BPA BS anymore.

There is no goalpost moving. All my comments match up. It's not my fault my original post on Parsons was taken as anti-Parsons, it wasn't. I just don't buy the hype being presented. He can be a contributor but he's not going to be great. That's not a slam on him.
Snake oil.

Nope, I firmly stand by my original position on Parsons. He is hyped way too much right now. I'm still skeptical. He may turn out to be good but he will never stand out in the NFL the way he did in that cotton bowl highlight reel.

Could say that about any player. Boring. That Sgt Pepper album might have some good songs but it will never be a top album. Paul McCartney told John Lennon that he was surprised that the album was so successful. The critic was wrong. McCartney was wrong.

You went bold and then got scared and went safe and boring.

Lance and Wilson were reaches in my opinion. We shall see.

BPA BS? Thanks in advance for sparing us your thoughts on BPA, whatever they may be.

That's a metaphor for something sold as something it is not. It addresses how he is being presented to the public and nothing about what he actually will be. He can be a good player but that doesn't mean he will be his rookie season.

It’s a shame you can’t just have a little excitement about the prospect. Instead, you “go out on a limb” and claim he won’t be as good as a one game reel.
Wow. Hot take man.

Those are QB reaches. Teams always do that.

BPA has been put to bed. And lets just say I am glad Cowboys addressed their needs in the draft.

There is no contradiction there. He stood out in the cotton bowl highlight reel. In the NFL he will not stand out like that. How would describe it? I used the word "fade". That doesn't mean he won't be good, it just means he won't stand out. No goalpost moving at all.

You suck at this. Beatles albums are a thing of the past. We have the advantage of talking about them in the past tense. A "good" song is a matter of opinion, it's subjective, while a top album is based on sales and is more factual. McCartney telling Lennon he was surprised their Sgt. Pepper album was so successful is neither right nor wrong. It too is a subjective statement. Critics give their opinion which is neither right nor wrong.

On the other hand, talking about Parsons's future in the NFL is from a totally different perspective. We have no such advantage of talking in the past tense. It's pure speculation so there is no wrong or right predictions about him, only opinion. He is being hyped way too much, IMO. AN OPINION. Don't police my opinion.

Not every player gets painted with the high expectations that he is receiving. It's a lot of pressure to measure up too. I remain skeptical and you can remain fooled. You will be disappointed and I will say I told you so. Jerry Jones is a snake oil salesman and this player is nothing but snake oil.

How do you come up with these Joeisms?

This is the bowl game that Parsons played in at AT&T Stadium.

If you haven’t watched his highlights from this game you should take about 11 minutes to watch what this guy can do. It is only highlights from that one game but he makes quite a few plays in it.

It is easy to see the blistering speed that he plays with and even though he’s still just figuring LB out, his instincts for finding the ball and negotiating through traffic on the way to the QB are very good. He has a real knack for getting home on the pass rush. When he decides to go… he moves with rare suddenness and explosion.

Keep in mind that he is just a true Sophomore here and this is just highlights from one game. Phenomenal talent.

first off ill say this like the pick,

he was high on my tier 1 first rounders we should take so i like the pick.

however ,

one it was against Memphis...

Two i bet i can find a highlight reel for Jaylon smith last year in colleges or the bowl game before he destroyed his ankle/foot.. he was projected first round cant miss LB pre injury..

Jaylon smith had every bit of an impressive college career on good team..

would toy like me to dig it up or will the no way comments be saved for now :))

I just speak my opinion. I don't get caught up in the hype. Maybe thinking for one's self is a foreign concept to you. For you, it's much easier to just go along with what everyone else is saying.

That is another one, how did you arrive at that notion, with me asking a question?

Yes, I am glad the cowboys went with BPA, first and foremost, in this draft. You can now put BPA to bed and wake up before the next draft, just like we should do every year.

That game was better than the highlight reel for many players.

I have a brain of my own and thus I come up with my own original thoughts. Fascinating, right?

I guess, if you believe that you are the only one that has original thoughts. There is nothing wrong with having an opinion, but when you are dogmatic, with that opinion, and come up wrong; it looks bad. We have all been there before; some more than others.

When I am the only one stating the original thought while everyone else speaks as if they are in an echo chamber, you tell me who is dogmatic? The echo chamber. At this point, there is no wrong or right about Parsons. It's all speculation. That will change in due time. Until then, spare me with your judgemental "come up wrong", "looks bad" assumption. All I am saying is I don't think the hype he is getting is deserved. We'll just have to wait and see who is right.

Haha, I actually though that last night. It really is true too.

Playing a game like that as a true sophomore is pretty telling, as is leading a team like Penn State in tackles as a true freshman. That’s just a different breed of player. The guy has unreal ability.
