Is anyone else concerned about the Offensive Line?

I’ve been going back and forth on the Parsons pick over Slater for a number of reasons.

I’m glad the front office saw the need for defensive playmakers, but the offensive line really scares me.

Tyron hasn’t played a full season since 2015, La’el has only played 2 full seasons in his 5 year career. Not to mention, Zach Martin getting banged up here and there. The other guys are still unproven.

We saw how pedestrian Zeke looked without those guys, and I think it has a trickle down effect on the entire unit.

Anyone else feeling the same, or am I overthinking this?

Not at all.

Health will obviously play a big role. But personally last year was one of growth for some players pressed into action. Steele, McGovern, Biadasz and Knight. Other then Biadasz none will be expected to be starters but have that experience to help them to progress.

Add in our draft class and Nsekhe we have lots of depth.

But as long as Martin, Smith and Collins remain healthy and Williams plays as good as he did last season. The oline still remains a strength and shouldnt be a concern.

Yes,
This has and remains the central foundational unit to this team's success.
REGARDLESS of defense.
This team will go as this offensive line goes. I share in your concern as my multiple previous posts would attest to the impact of losing Smith, Collins or both would put this team in a further downward spiral.

I think Philbin is a decent coach however
I still believe in higher pedigreed backups than this current depth chart shows.

Not a big believer in the whole Knight, Steele or Nseshke experiment regardless of their experience gained or being coached up.

MOST backup players are backups for a reason. I do not believe the offense will function well at all if either OT goes down for any extended time. Same as it failed last year with backups. No change imo.

My .02.

I think we have depth and the rookie tackle might be a decent swing or even future starter at RT. If one or the other starting tackle goes down this team will be hurting bad on offense. We will see you can flip a coin at this point to see what will happen there.

Mild concern. Health concern. But the Oline was decimated and the offense under Dak was the best in NFL history.

lol what?

Are we talking about the 2019 8-8 Cowboys that lost games where our opponents scored 17, 12, and 13 points?

Or the 2020 1-3 start Dallas Cowboys?

No, not even a little bit.

Our offensive line didn't perform horribly last year with all of those players out. I expect them all to be back and I think we have better depth than last year. Not sure if anyone noticed...our defense is horrific.

We can play at a high level if we lose one T. My preference would be that instead of a downgrade with our swing T, we move Zack outside and let the Connors man the G spots.

Said it last year and I'll say it again this year. The Cowboys will go as far as the OL can take them and I don't believe that's going to be all that far. I think we might see 8 solid games but after that, it's going to be a series of missed practices and games at LT. I hope that RG and RT can stay healthy this year but LT, I think Smitty is probably hurting.

Concerned about their durability but we had bigger immediate needs in the draft on the other side of the ball. If they stay healthy they are one of the best in the league as a unit. If all our defenders from last year stayed healthy...they would still suck.

The only thing that scares me about our offense is Dak getting hurt. If that doesn't happen we will be able to score points. The defense just needs to get right!

1-3 start with Dak at QB last year.

As long as we get Collins back, we should be fine. Dak doesnt need a top 5 line anymore for that passing game to go off. Now Zeke, that is a different story.

-Collins
-Martin
-Biadasz
-McGovern with experience/Williams
-Tyron, even if he gets hurt again someone can fill in.

Yes. If they stay healthy, we will be fine. I just don't see the OL staying healthy.

A rebuild will be in order soon. We always seem to wait too long to rebuild old strengths.
I don't think they've waited to long to rebuild. You can't prepare for a Fredrick situation, but they drafted Biadasz last year. McGovern the year before. CWill is coming up as a FA. Martin/Collins are still young for OL. They have quite a bit of young pieces. Tyron will be the next to fall as he has shown that even though he is 30...he will miss games. Maybe they get lucky and Ball is the long term solution.
