If you have 7 minutes to spare, I thought this was a good interview about the draft. Some nuggets on a few players, the board when it comes to BPA and need, and offense vs defensive players.

I thought it was interesting that as the draft went on, teams started to go heavy on need and not BPA and that is how Cox slipped.

Mcclay was arguably the best in the business. I know we’ve slacked on some defensive picks but mcclay isn’t totally to blame when the scouts wanted tj watt among others and the coaching staff got their way.

this year mcclay and Quinn could’ve put together a fabulous defensive draft. Let’s hope. Mcclay track record continues with caliber of players he suggests.

From Reports Scouts and McClay wanted other players at certain spots and Coaches over ruled them. so honestly if this draft sucks i'm blaming my cousin Danny, family or no i bleed Silver and blue

Round 1. 2, and 4 were good rounds. But if round 3 turns out to be a disaster with three picks, then McCray is either a useless idiot or powerless eunuch and will need to go.

So he’s useless or powerless if his 3rd round picks fail? Really? So if his 1st round pick succeeds and his 2nd round succeeds he’s a idiot because his 3rd round picks failed? The hell?

If we had a competent GM who had consequences for continued mediocrity, my guess is you see better drafts and product on the field.

People who get the big picture. Love 'em. Nice post.

He did have 3 picks
But if he is powerless then it means he’s also not responsible lol
I don’t know how many of these picks were his picks or coaches picks
How much the coaches pushed certain traits rather than just best player
If a 6’4” guy can be a great CB then that’s great
But no better than a 6’0” becoming a great CB
I have some worries about putting size over ability but I hope I’m wrong

I'm of the belief we need a GM but at the same time.......there are teams with GM's around the league and they suck at drafting....its probably why Jerry has held on to the position as long as he has.

But its also important to add that Jerry is not solely making these picks. Jerry is not scouting anyone. He's hired scouts to make these decisions for him. We already know what happened when it came down to Zack Martin and Johnny Football.
