Are the Cowboys just a better defense away from being contenders?

The last 9 SB winners were top 10 in scoring offense AND scoring defense - not average. The same is true of all 5 Cowboys SB winners.

If you want to lose in the playoffs, "average" will get that done. If you want another Lombardi, "average" is merely a step in the right direction.

No clue, but when we went 13-3 we was a run heavy team and played through Zeke. We won time of possession and Dak was a game manger.

If we can repeat that then I think we could have a shot. If we plan on trying to win games by passing then it will just be a repeat of the first 4 games of 2020.

Failure rate is MUCH MUCH MUCH higher then success rate. A lot more QBs have never won meaningful games then QBs that have.

For every Staubach and Aikman there are 100s of Danny Whites and Tony Romos. Until Dak proves otherwise he is in the White and Romo category.

I think that the defense is going to be much improved with Quinn and the new blood which gives them a chance of playing well as a team.

A couple of plays changes the White and Romo category. The Catch against the 49ers and the Dez Catch non Catch against the Packers.

I blame 70% of that defense on Nolan. I expect them to be at worst a top 15 D this year. I am way more worried about the oline.

What are you talking about? If Caroll runs the ball and the Falcons knell down on every play of the second half they win the SB. If Tyree doesn’t make that catch Brady wins.
Like Dak the person but we just guaranteed mediocrity for the next 5-6 years.
We had the best value at Qb from 2016-2020 but the organization just didn’t understand modern football. You NEVER over pay a good QB and you can never over pay a great guy.
Dak is a great fantasy guy, will put up stats but team is not built to win. He should have been smart and tried to go play for Payton. He would win but make less money.

So Wildcard weekend hopefully we play Washing or some other NFC East team.

Divisional hopefully play some NFC North team without Rodgers

NFC Championship we would most likely then face Brady or a NFC West team

So I guess you no longer want to tear the team apart, cut Dak and start over anymore?

Do you still think this team would be better off with Dalton at 10 million?

We’re 5 more targets a game for cooper away from being contenders.

The offense was turning the ball over and helping the defense lose games when Dak was healthy, so the offense has some improving to do also...they carry some blame too.

Injuries, I don't want to hear it. Y'all act like nobody is supposed to get hurt. Every team has injuries it's not an excuse to me. That's why you build a team with depth, and that's the on Stephen.

Cowboys just aren't a good team right, if you look at it without these annual excuses. This team can't even consistently get to the Playoffs.
