Going to start off with the weakest position (IMO) CB.

Anthony Brown
30 CB 5-11 196 27 6 Purdue

Deante Burton
33 CB 6-2 205 26 4 Kansas State

Maurice Canady
31 CB 6-1 193 26 5 Virginia

Trevon Diggs
27 CB 6-2 195 23 2 Alabama

C.J. Goodwin
29 CB 6-3 190 31 6 California (PA)

Kelvin Joseph
24 CB 6-1 192 21 R Kentucky

Jourdan Lewis
26 CB 5-10 195 25 5 Michigan

Israel Mukuamu
38 CB 6-4 205 21 R South Carolina

Reggie Robinson II
41 CB 6-1 190 24 2 Tulsa

Nahshon Wright
40 CB 6-4 185 22 R Oregon State

The Cowboys really need the draft picks to contribute early. Like game 1. Lewis, Brown and Diggs will probably be the starters with Joseph getting some time. At least starting out this year, CB is a very weak position for the Cowboys but as the year progresses I think this unit will end up being solid.

A blitzing Parsons and Cox covering (in place of Jaylon) might do wonders for the CBs. I think the DL will get a lot more pressure and stop the run better. This will lead to longer distances and more rushed and errant throws.

This year's CB position is already better on paper than last year. I think the DB scheme will be better than last year. Better and more weapons and time to implement a better scheme will pay dividends.

Quinn’s scheme has the CB’s eyes facing the QB more, albeit the outside guys that will play more man. This will help tremendously. Add the fact that players drafted for Marenilli’s scheme will be more comfortable with Quinn’s scheme, not to mention the focus on obtaining players to stop to run, the pressure on the QB will inevitably cause poor throws.. this only benefits our secondary.

Dallas still has time to add a vet CB (Like Richard Sherman).. our young CB will have bumps in the road, but overall the CB does seem more improved. Only time will tell, but the (assumed) improved run defenders has me more excited.

Just out of curiosity, how did the pass rush and run defense improve? Honest question. I don’t see where they upgraded the DL much at all. After cutting Woods, they are depending on a 6th round pick to play a lot of snaps, which is puzzling. He has got not make the team. 6th round draft picks don’t have a high success rate and if he was that good, he would have been drafted much higher.

I'm thinking the CB position is looking better than it has in years. Hopefully, I'm not mistaken.
The potential is pretty good
We have 3 solid starters and a promising rookie
No proven studs though Diggs may take another step this year and played pretty solid as he got more reps last year

Mukaumu should be taking safety reps day one of camp
If he’s gonna have an impact, that’s where his best chance is
