Washington didnt think so. They could have signed Dalton. If Dalton doesnt have a great line, he is total garbage.
I mean its Washington....its not like they are some great measuring stick for acquiring talent....unless its the defensive line.

That being said....maybe they didn't want to sign Dalton for what he got signed for?

They made a stopgap move with Fitzpatrick because they knew they weren't getting a shot at the top 3 in this draft and trading for Watson was no longer feasible, although he and Snyder could double date.

I don't see GB or SEA trading their QB's, especially to the NFC.

They might be considering going for Howell or Rattler next draft. They will have some decisions to make on paying that DL and might have one as trade bait to move up.

In the East, there's only one team that has settled in with their QB. I could see 2 of the 3, if not all 3 going for QB next offseason. Hurts, Fitzpatrick are not answers and I am not sold on Daniel Jones just yet and don't know if they are either. This is his season to step up.

I don't really care what the betting lines say. The Cowboys are always overrated on those lines.

Exactly. The betting lines have little to do with how good the team is. The betting lines are based on who is betting on who. The more people that bet on a team, the higher the line goes. Vegas doesn't care who wins the game. The keep the line in the middle so that the house cut makes them the winner regardless. The Cowboys have so many people betting for them that it skews the line.

Dallas brings in ratings, so until the weekly beatings commence they will be mentioned as favorites.

It doesn't matter one iota who is favored to win. What matters is who ends up winning. Who wants it the most.

It doesn't matter who wants it the most as that is hands down Snyder.

I agree, all of these pick'ems to start the season are as useless as power rankings. There are disappointing and surprising teams every season and this season will be no exception.

Oh I agree. I just think Fitz is worse lol.

Fitz has a lower floor, higher ceiling. Even though I thought Fitz played better at times on Miami than Dalton ever did in any game in Dallas, Fitz did throw some game ending picks. He can lose a game by himself.

Think of how Tony Romo would play buzzed or drunk. That's Fitz.

Dalton was past his prime, but he led the team to some meaningless wins that lowered the team’s draft position. Some fans really got excited because of the wins and started with the playoff talk. Dak was putting up personal stats, but he was not winning before he was injured . Dalton was playing under worse circumstances and he did well considering the mess that the team was in. One of the most shameful things that I have ever seen from Cowboy’s players was the entire team showing no support for Dalton after he took the cheap shot. Every single Cowboy player on the field was exposed for being gutless wonders when they made no efforts to come to Dalton’s aid. It was embarrassing.

I must have missed it. I thought they spent a 3rd rounder on the OLine.

OK they spent their #4 pick on an OT last year. My bad - thanks Google.

They didn't pick any OLine this year.
They signed Nate Solder and Kevin Zeitler to big money deals and recently released Zeitler. They drafted Will Hernandez at guard which is a player going into his draft class many Cowboys fans wanted. They drafted Andrew Thomas who has struggled and not been the stud everyone thought he'd be.

They have poured many big bucks and draft capital into the line and gotten mediocre to poor results.

Not many understand this.

Well, when you lose 3 of your best players early its hard to not throw a match in the gas tank.
We were apart of the dumpster fire in 2019 with all those same players relatively healthy and were right there stinking up the joint with the rest of the nfce teams.

I agree on that. I do think he has a higher ceiling than Dalton.....but you are going to see that floor more than you see that ceiling. Dalton was much more steady. I wouldn't' want either starting for me...as backups? I'd take either.

I knew Dalton would be terrible. Our line was decimated. He cant handle pressure. It was sad to watch the team let him get punked.
