Defense is primed for us to be excited about while we put expectations they most likely won’t meet, only for us to have the same conversations we’ve had about this unit for the past 15 years.

Ahh the time of year where any positivity is met with pessimism, always great to he a cowboys fan

I expect worse comments as people wake up, and log in. It makes their day to see positives so they can crap on it, to start their miserable day. :lmao:
Plus being a Mickey article adds fuel to the fire. Glad I can start their day out like this. :muttley:

While I normally do not like reading Spags' articles, I am encouraged that our OL is spending so much time at the Star, working with the trainers, in contrast to last season, when they were all at home, "working out" by themselves. I hope it pays off with number of games played on the field.

Another guy who thinks the Cowboys offense is so super-duper "average" defense is enough. Even Mahomes' Chiefs couldn't win it with average defense, as the Patriots put up 37 on them. The next year they had a top 10 defense and they beat the Niners.

There are real positives about this team and they should be more fun to watch this year...they will be competitive and have a shot to do something....I am not saying superbowl contention but should at least be more fun than last year...and that's good enough for this time of year for me.

Mickey talking about the injured players on offense looking good in their rehab.
Also mentions if the defense can moderately improve or even get to average, will be a big help.

Have at it.
I rarely agree with Mickey
But he is right about one thing
If this defense can be average, this team can win this division
It will take more than average to win the big one but average is a reasonable expectation for this season

Injuries happen to nearly all teams and some even go far in the playoffs. This excuse is really old.

Most teams should have depth to cover 3 or 4 injuries to starters. However when you lose half your starters on both sides of the ball to injuries. Then you lose the back ups as well. And you are playing 3rd and 4th team guys most of the year. That excuse is true.
