Where am I complaining about him charging for speaking engagements? Why not simply call it for what it is? Again, it's not Tebow's critics proclaiming HIM AS A SAINT AND HOLY, while he's charging 50-100 thousand for speaking at Churches. How is that in any way considered a sacrifice?

The reality is that 'good by image' is used as a DEFENSE MECHANISM for any of his FOOTBALL critics and it's evident even in the case of Dez and pretty much the rest of the football world. The some defenders of his have ZERO problem giving character judgments on other 'types' of athletes like Dez.

What is it? Depends on how he spends the money in his motives I guess. Everyone has a right to try to earn what they can. Someone is always paying when someone else is getting rich. (entertainment, actors, musicians) We don't call all athletes greedy do we? Really just the ones that hold out for that extra penny or dollar. The others get a pass on greed.

A speaking engagement for Tebow probably means people pay $20-$30 a piece to go. We pay $12 for a movie and another $5-10 for popcorn and a drink! Maybe those people want to pay to hear what he has to say.

One of my top 10 most unlikable Cowboys of all time.

-Pacman Jones
-Dontari Poe
-Martellus Bennett
-Marcellus Wiley (seems like a great dude off the field)
-Roy Williams (receiver)
-Roy Williams (safety, after year 3 he went from most liked to least liked for me)
-Brandon Carr
-Mario Edwards
-Alan Ball
-Joseph Randle (actually looked promising his final year after looking like a dude in previous years, was faster and stronger)

He should not have brought race into it. It has no place in sports. Disappointed in Dez for that. He should know better.

Yes. Tebow has friends in high places. You don't. Life is not fair, so go back to your hole and shuddup.

The jags have signed old man Tim Tebow and Desperate Bryant (he recently asked Aaron Rogers for a receivers job) is feeling left out.
  • BB1gAxrH.img

So when Tim Tebow reportedly agreed to a deal with his old friend and new Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyers, Bryant was kinda envious.

And Bryant — still looking for work — finds it hard to believe. Well, believe it, Desperate.
Its not about having friends in high places. Dez is a better football player in one day than Tebow will ever be in 10 years. For the simple fact Tebow was signed to a NFL ball club and players like Dez couldn't get a job and players like Kaepernick who led his team to a Superbowl couldn't get a job, is an absolute JOKE!!!

Everybody knows the reasons behind that. Just another example of how the "good ol' boy" network moves. Nothing new to see here....

"Bowing one's head" can also be confused with "keeping one's cool". Some people are just passive by nature. Like I said, some people keep quiet, because they can't respond and they remain quiet because they know they have a good thing going and don't want to jeopardize it. "Keeping cool" can be a vice, such as in the case when one is faced with injustice.

Fair enough. But it's one thing to keep quiet and another to say something and compliment your critic. And because the latter is so rare, it explains why many like, beyond measure, Tebow.

But I think we've beaten this one to death. I appreciate your comments.

Apologies to @aikemirv and @tyke1doe on what is obviously a sensitive topic, that touches on religion and race and my tone was rather harsh. I actually deleted my previous posts, as far back as I could, because I realized it may be touching one issues that may affect you guys personally, and this should be about football period. Again, apologies..

I understand Dez's point EXACTLY. But I think Tebow is a rare exception. Tebow has been getting these type chances all his life. I mean, aside from Michael Jordan, who else has been able to walk from one professional sport into another having not played that sport in YEARS?

Does that good ole boy network get all those former players jobs on ESPN and NFL Network?

You don't have to apologize to me. I didn't take your comments to be hostile towards me. I understand both sides. So we cool. :)

No apologies necessary. I thought it was a good discussion honestly.

Why does it upset you so much that Tebow got signed?
LOL aww, nice try. I couldn’t care less about a backup TE on the Jaguars.

You’re the one bashing your favorite team’s starting QB while comparing him to a backup TE who hasn’t player in 9 years. A pure zealot.

My point is that Tebow was serviceable, and Elway's decision to cut Tebow didnt prove that he wasnt. It was an easy decision to go get one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game and take a gamble on him since you had nothing at the QB position. It didnt make Elway anything other than not an idiot.
Elway was publicly critical of Tebow even during the 2011 “Tebow Time” season. He was never fooled by that scrub.

That makes him smarter than every single clown who was on the Tebow hype train, at least.

LOL your initial reaction to someone making fun of Tim Tebow was to bash your favorite team’s starting QB, in order to make Tebow look better.

You’re simply a zealot. It’s okay.

Dez had his chance to sign with the Ravens for a good multi year deal after his release but decided to cry and think JJ will bring him back.

Dez is right. There is no way in hell Tebow should be int he NFL. NO WAY. NONE. He didn't cut it in baseball......didn't' cut it in football initially after saying he would only play QB...now he's willing to play any position? Yeah its BS. Dez is one of the few that will speak out on it though. Has nothing to do with him being bitter. His legacy is cemented. He's one of the best receivers to ever come through Dallas.
