Have two bird feeders... a suet feeder. A feeder for the squirrels. Have a small animal mix that I throw under the outside stairs for the chipmunks and have a bowl of dry food for the outside cats.

Here is my bird feeder setup:

Nice setup!

At the moment, suet feeders are the bane of my existence...

A couple weeks ago a black bear came through and tore mine down. lol

I put everything back together and loaded the suet feeder with red-pepper loaded suet.

So then the grackles started showing up and they'll go through a suet cake in a day.

I even have upside down suet feeders (this is serious work here!) and doesn't matter.

So now I have pure suet (no "stuff" in it) on order. We'll see if that helps stop the grackles infestation.

I originally had a feeder with three channels for three different type of feed. But it was not squirrel proof, and the squirrels ripped the bottom off. So I trashed that feeder, and invested in the squirrel-proof one. I found it at Wal-Mart.

What is this thing called a “Squirrel proof” feeder?
