Smith came into the league in 1992. Aikman retired in 2000.

Late to the party, but these two situations are so completely different, I struggle to see how the two relate.

Lol, Jaylon is a 'Cornerstone' of this franchise so no way he's gone till at least next year. And if he makes a couple good plays Jerruh will probably give him a record setting extension

Because all our other stars were done or at the end of their careers. Troy could not stay healthy anyway.

LVE has a chance to go out and produce this season, He has to show he can get the job done and he has to show the injuries are behind him.

9.1 mill on the 5th year option, not exactly cheap. I hope LVE has a very good and healthy season but right now he has to show he is past these injuries.

If he can return to playing as well as he payed in his rookie season, it would help the defense a lot. I honestly hope that the injuries were the only reason for his decline on the field.

Fall guy has nothing to do with it. LVE and Jaylon are two players who are just not getting the job done. Time to move on. Same with Lawrence and Elliott.

I have a hard time blaming players when our front office is this incompetent. Under a well orchestrated defense I think both players would thrive if healthy .....I Hope Quinn can bring that.

But after 25 years of Jerry, hope is in short supply.

Who says they are giving up on Lve? They just determined his option was too expensive and will be looking to sign him to an extension. Think they may want to allow the season to play out to see if he can stay healthy/productive first.
