He's tailor made for the game today and he will be an immediate upgrade as a rookie. It will be sickening if he's on the bench in favor of any of these veterans.

Don't be scared to play two rookies. They're better.
I agree. And if this CB Knight doesn’t turn out to be a player, it will be disturbing that the Cowboys took a chance of missing out on Cox for a CB that most had rated as a much later prospect.

Everything I’ve read says he’s a detriment in run defense. Hopefully the scouting report is wrong ab the guy, bc I’d loved to see him push Jaylon out this year. Either way, he’s got a chance to prove himself in dime/nickel packages, which Dallas will be in more often than not. I have my doubts about the player, but I’ll gladly eat crow.

Great defensive draft. Hopefully Cox can earn his way onto the field.....meaning getting good enough against the run that he is not limited on to only obvious passing downs. Teams can use that weakness to their advantage.

The majority of those same scouting reports had him as a 2nd round prospect.

And they had "consternation" according to Jerry that Wright would still be available at that pick.

My lord.

IMO, draft pick most likely to disappoint.

1) CB-Wright
2) OT-Ball
3) LB-Cox

IMO, free agent most likely to disappoint.

1) DT-Watson
2) OT-Nsekhe
3) LB-Neal

Honestly this reminds of when the Cowboys stole Witten in the 3rd round. Not saying Cox will be a hall of fame player but it is a huge steal for a prospect with no major injury or character concerns. I know he had a minor shoulder injury concern but it wasn't major.

He was used just like Darren Woodson was used at Arizona St., and skills out of college reminds me of Hollywood Henderson (Henderson looked much faster). His athleticism and play has the potential to develop into that kind of player.

Cox can play WLB, SS, and Slot. At 6-4-233, 34" vertical, and 4.50 40yd time is physically more imposing than Woodson and Henderson out of college.

His days at NDSU are legendary

He can be a great 4th round pick even if he is always limited to playing in the Nickel/Dime defenses.

Yep, I remember looking at Witten picked in the 3rd round and wondered what the heck do NFL teams want in a TE that he did not go earlier. However, it worked out for the Cowboys. All Witten did was block, run fast, catch everything, and make plays at Tennessee...https://allfortennessee.com/2018/04/27/tennessee-football-witten-top-performances/5/
