Yep agreed.

Steele is going to have a tough time if everyone is healthy....especially since he is a RT only.

IMO, it was impressive that Steele even managed to start games as a rookie UDFA.

The Cowboys were leading the league in offense at the point when Dak was injured.
- They did that with the majority of OT snaps being played by a rookie UDFA and 2nd year UDFA.

They probably kept Steele at RT to avoid having a rookie UDFA try to learn 2 positions.

Based on studying last season's game footage, I wound not be surprised to see Steele move ahead of Knight at OT.
- Knight appears ideally suited for OG.

I prefer fat guys on OL...

Thankfully Nate didn't show us his abs back in the day...

I like fat guys on the inside but tackle I want strength and agility on that outside. Tyron especially as a young player was not fat but was big and strong and could move

It was impressive what Steele was able to do and he isnt someone I'd prefer to quit on so soon.

I would think Knights proven versatility would have him ahead of Steele.

I'm actually not sure why they felt a need to add a veteran swing ahead of them both.

Now add a draft pick to the mix.....

You're the XO guy but not sure I see enough athleticism in Steele to be a NFL LT.

Collins has been doing his post-surgery rehab with Dak all offseason. It's been reported Collins has looked impressive keeping up with Dak. We all already know Dak is ahead of schedule on his recovery. The comradery on our offense will be through the roof this year with all our starters back and playing hard for each other.
That is the "chemistry" we talk about and easier for the O since they've been together longer. Need to achieve that same thing on the D side and I think Quinn is the beginning of that.

When there is that type of secrecy involved, it is often for 1 of these reasons:
1: The team and player (or player's Doctor) are in disagreement about the severity of the injury and/or the need to surgery.
2: The player injured himself in a non-football related incident but does not want to admit to it.

I think the team was overly focused on the fact that he came in out of shape and consider that as the root cause of his inability to practice.

In retrospect, especially considering how he looks this offseason, he was likely out of shape because of the injury.

In the middle of the ordeal, he was involved in a traffic incident which just made if harder for the media to report accurately on his issues.

I for one am glad to see both of them moving so well this early. We need them both to be 100% and ready to go for us to have any shot at having a good season.

That other guy in the video should have the playbook in one hand so he can learn the plays better. Not dedicated at all, lol.

Is this the same Terrence Steele we talking about? He was trash all last season. Unless he has vastly improved, no way he will make the 53.

If you really want some XO details...

The interesting strategy the coaches used was to give the most help to Knight and most often leave Steele on his own.

They would help Knight with the RB or TE on many passing snaps but help for Steele was much more limited.

At first I thought that seemed crazy considering that Steele was a rookie UDFA; however, it began to make sense as the season progressed.

They basically told the QB that they would do everything possible to protect his blindside but that it was on him to avoid pressure coming from the frontside (Right Side).

They called plays based on the assumption that the RT was not going to hold up in pass protection.
- i.e. QB rolling left, etc.

Side Note:
- Connor Williams ended up getting blamed by fans for failures that were actually due to them coaching him to be hyper-focused on helping Knight at LT.
- Overall CW actually did a good job of helping Knight, but on some occasions he ended up in a bad position because of it.
- The indirect way that they help Steele was to have Martin over-focus to the outside.
- They had the OC over-focus to the right to offset Martin helping Steele.
- This also increased the degree of difficultly on CW because he received less help from the OC.
- The Cowboys had done that trick with Martin starting his rookie season when they had him helping Doug Free with Frederick cheating over to make up the difference.
- Back then it was Ron Leary and later La'el that ended up playing LG almost like they were playing OT because they were often on a island with no LT or OC in sight.

Hip issues are a concern.

It was a hip injury that doomed Chaz Green for the infamous Atlanta game.
- Green had been solid in 2 starts at LT the previous season.
- He had been out for several games the season prior to the Atlanta game with the hip issue.
- It was obvious when reviewing that game that he just couldn't move well enough to function at OT.
- Green was lambasted for that game but the coaching staff didn't give him any help.
- Somehow the coaches managed to give more help to both Knight and Steele in 2020 than they have to Green in that Atlanta game.
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

You are still defending Chaz Green!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

Chaz Green sucked, always sucked and always will suck. He was a no talent @$$ clown from the beginning.

Good sign. We need Tyrone to be back at 100% as well for this to be a successful season.

That’s what they said, he got hip surgery so obviously it was a hip issue what else would it be. Fans just wanted to run with it and Helman made a wild comment that he heard Collins had no cartilage and people had all the ammo they needed.

Got so bad his agent had to come out and quell retirement rumors. Sometimes it’s like our fans want things to be bad.
