Well, at least I can dispense early with the unrealistic disappointment I experience when we lose our first game. It always feels like I lost something precious when the Cowboys lose their first game of the season. I delude myself into thinking that a perfect season is always possible.

so your answer was basically a no answer. you don't have a "brady" but you want a "brady"....so no solution, but you just like to complain and now shifted from this year to the future, which is way off, given the 2021 season hasn't even started yet.....

I am not and never claimed to be the end all be all to fandom..but I know a fake fan when I see one...

and seemingly you are placing all the losses on Dak and nobody else bearing any responsibility, like the worst all time defense....oookkk then we know where you stand....
The way you are a fan is not the blueprint on how to be a fan of a team.

What's to talk about this year? We did nothing. We signed a few injured guys, so what?

The QB is the most important player on the team. The Bucs went from missing the playoffs to winning the Super Bowl. The Chiefs went from a decent to to winning a Super Bowl. All of that because QB changes played a huggggeeee role.

The entire team changed when Dak went from being just a game manager to to focus of the offense. We have not been a good team since that happened in 2019. We went 13-3, 9-7, and 10-6 when Zeke was running the show. When we decided in 2019 that we wanted to be a passing team we've been 9-11 with Dak since.

People talk about WFT, but this IMO will be the toughest front 7 Dallas will face all year. And for some reason Suh always looks to be in peak form against Dallas even when he's having a so-called down season...

Brady will have to throw a lot of lob passes to complete anything over the long arms of this defense, I can easily see 4 or 5 picks.....Cowboys D salts this one away early

Bucs have a damn good D, no question and Brady deserves all credit thrown his way for multiple rings but at this point in his career, he's more a game manager. ( See Peyton Manning as a Bronco ).

I don't see this at all. In 20 games last season (incl. 4 postseason) Brady threw for 50/15 and around 5700 yds. Game manager? He's light years further along than Manning was his final couple seasons in Denver.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
It is purely an unprovable generalization but it seems like some fans are way more frightened of other teams' quarterbacks (especially future hall of famers) now than when I was growing up.

Man, poor Dan Quinn doesn’t get a break, he will have those 28-3 ,slipped out of SB nightmares all night before the game and will be a wreak.

OTOH , he can plot his revenge against the Goat.

again, your answer is a non-answer. you keep talking about Brady....so who is the "Brady" that would sign for under market value? who is the next Mahomes? you keep pointingto your crystal ball after the fact...yet you can't tell me who is the "Brady" you wanted that would translate to a championship for this team. how? who is the mahomes you keep talking about? if you didn't know, Brady chose to sign with Bucs. and Mahomes was drafted by KC and given the biggest contract in NFL history....so who are the guys you want that would translate to championship....

you keep pointing to other teams, yet provided no alternative to Dak...

you are just complaining.

I don't know. Why would I know who the next Brady or Mahomes is? I do know that it didn't take 5 years and a broken leg before we knew Brady and Mahomes was championship, MVP level QBs. Dak has been a starter now for 5 years and has 1 playoff win and is never in any serious MVP discussion.

Brady is Brady. Mahomes is Mahomes. Dak is Dak.

My alternative would have been to draft a QB and let Dak chase money somewhere else. We're not going to be competitive with Dak anyways if 2020 is any kind of indication, so it's not like we're a Dak Prescott away from winning a Super Bowl.

Yah we can disagree here. Chance are we lose this game. Not saying we cant win, just not likely. Dak coming off injury, defense having one offseason with new players to get their act together. Probably not going to happen.
Agreed.

Logic.

Plus new coach and his scheme.

But let them play and hope we're wrong.

When you play teams in the schedule can make a huge difference. Jerry offering to play the Rams in their new stadium last year was a mistake. The Rams were pumped up

Jerry offering? I don't think that is how it works.

I have no issue with starting with Tampa, pretty much all upside. You win and you walk out of this game with a lot of confidence heading into the rest of the season and you get 10 days to get ready for week 2 opponent so win or lose you get a bit of an edge heading into the 2nd game, which likely will be a home game. In the end you have 17 games on the schedule so who we play in week 1 is no big deal.

AND...if you lose, you lose to the champs, which isn't the end of the world. The only teams you really have to beat are located in Philly, NY and Washington.

if anyone here actually believes the bucs will lose their home opener coming off a SB win they are delusional. Of course I will watch, but we will soon see the stark differences between an actual well ran team, and one that is ragged and in flux. I think we will be better in the long haul, but not on this day guys.

I guess we should just not show up then.
