Who are legitimate contenders in the NFC?

"I dont really care"? Thats obvious.

Dalton doesnt play for Washington buddy, they signed Fitz.

Didnt you just say that Washington will win because of defense. You are contradicting yourself again.

#1 offense means your QB is doing a great job.
#1 offense and a top 12 defense in an 8-8 season means my QB is putting up a lot of empty numbers.

Oh my bad...

17-0 and Super Bowl bound.

Can you think of me as a fan now?

Goodness you guys are insufferable. If you don't think this team with 3 Wild Card wins in a quarter of a century isn't winning the Super Bowl every year then you're not a fan.
Because I couldn’t tell you are a Cowboys fan?

We have all kinds of fans here man. We even have fans from other NFC East teams come here, put Cowboys in their name and act like they’re Dallas fans. God knows what they get out of it… but we have them.

So really, you just kind of have to go by what people say. Since you joined recently, I’ve read a lot of your posts because you’re pretty active and I’ve never seen you say one positive thing about the team or any of the players. Not one. I’m not saying that you haven’t actually said something decent about the team… but I haven’t seen it.

On the other hand, you seem to frequently say good things about Washington and sometimes about NY.

So, since we know that sticking Cowboys in the name you choose means nothing, and going off of what you say about the team… it isn’t unreasonable to assume that you’re not a Dallas fan and that you’re a fan of another team.

I mean, we pretty much have to figure it out because those types of fans never admit that they don’t pull for Dallas. They throw around phrases like “I hope I’m wrong, but…”, “I’ve been a fan since Roger Staubach…”, and their favorite “it’s been 25 years, of course I’m negative”.

And they always say, “You don’t have to be a kool-aid drinker to be a fan. I’m a realist.

Some of them even occasionally will write something good about Dallas. You know, just to throw us off.

Really, I understand being upset about some things with the team. Many things about this team pisses me off. However, if it’s everything that you hate, well, common sense raises some questions.

So don’t let it hurt your feelings that I was unsure about where your football loyalties lie. It is just a logical question when I’ve never seen you say one positive thing that a fan of the team would say. I mean I’ve read plenty of positive things from you about other teams… just not about the Cowboys.

I didn’t mean to upset you. I hope we can still be friends.

There is a gap, and it is a sizable gap, between the contenders and Dallas. If healthy Dallas has an offense that can easily be a contender, but the defense is simply not even close to ready. Assuming they hit decently on some of these defenders then it is possible that the Cowboys are a real team next year but they are not going to be contenders this year. They are going to be competing in the NFC East with Washington and if they win it will be one and done in the first round of the playoffs.

I understand, friend.

Thank you for not attacking me just because my opinion of the current team may be different than yours like some other posters do.

Is the players not executing ever at fault in your eyes?

or is it always the coach?
In the games you're referring to it's the coach.

That idiot tried to win games 20-13 and it killed them. Players had no chance to execute.

We had the #1 offense in the league when we lost those games. You don't get the #1 offense in the league by trying to win games 20-13 lol

Yes you do when you have the talent that they did and the schedule they had. They got that DESPITE JG, not because of him.

And his garbage philosophy was even more emphatic on the road, which is also the games you're referring to.

Dispersing blame for the 2019 offense's performance away from JG is totally stupid.

Middle of the pack Def is better than that dog crap they fielded last year.

IMO Washington has a chance to have a good team. They had the best defense in the NFCE last year, and their off season moves make sense. Much remains to be seen, of course, but I suspect they'll field a good team.

Okay, whatever you say lol

Super Bowl bound!

Better?
Haha nobody is saying Dallas is superbowl bound. You're acting like Dallas is a terrible team and can't compete in the division. They have the best QB in the division and it's not close. Dallas also has the best offense in the division. They will compete for the division and it's no doubt about it.

Was talking about this last night with my buddy. There really aren't a lot of great teams in the NFC. Rogers claims he would rather retire or be traded. If Rogers is no longer in the NFC who are contenders in the NFC? This is the list I have:

Tampa
Rams
San Fran
Seattle

THATS IT!! There is nobody else I see as a great team. And Seattle is Seattle. They don't really scare me. If the Cowboys get healthy and the defense is middle of the pack, there is no reason we cant be in the mix with these teams.

1) Tampa of course is No.1; added to defense and special teams, Trask as heir apparent QB ?
2) Green Bay - Rodgers will end his disgruntled trade holdout and they 'll do very good record wise in reg season ..and flop in playoffs
3) Niners will do good so long as jimmy is fully healthy and they have run game and defense. when will rookie Lance take over as starter ?
4) Seattle OL is still a mess and they did nada to upgrade it - all about Wilson/WR pass game, but soft defense; and average run game- they'll flop quickly in playoffs too
5) Rams are must see with new QB Stafford who adjusts to new system, who are their new eye-popping upgrades ? .. new DC and new defense ?
6) Arizona; need upgrade in OL, stud RB, and more tools on defense; mixed views on those areas, older JJWatt, added L. Collins in draft; journeymen like OL..etc.
7) Dak return spells former No.1 offense leader in NFL, new defense unknown and suspect; it's a wait and see
8) if Daniel and Barkley are healthy, added WR threats, OL still suspect; added 2 players but not much else in FA.; Garrett as OC again ?
9) Fitzpatrick, Gibson run game, added WR Samuel, added LB Davis in draft but not big splash FA or draft; gritty team per HC Rivera
10) Vikes - only cuz offense has some weapons but defense is a mess, QB is stlll shakily inconsistent

They don't have a legit QB and even with that defense they still barely won the division with a losing record. I think Giants will be better than Washington even though their QB isn't great either but they have a ton of weapons on offense and a decent defense.

what moves in offseason was the big splashes besides adding Fitzpatrick and WR Samuels ?
WFT has a very solid coaching staff, and as you say a solid defense- secondary still suspect; Gibson solid run game, but how far will Fitz can take them ?

Their cap looks like 10-7 to me with 9-8 or 8-9 more likely....and low end undefined
