Guilty as charged . . . you got me . . . I am a Hypocrite . . . I am a Dak Hater . . . and I am still mad about Romo. . . there you go . . . around and around we go . . . Same old tired discussion . . . but we are down to 4 years or less depending on the game play of peg leg

Like given for honesty....hope you are proven wrong and dak surprises you.

Gilbert, Rush, and DiNucci are plenty good enough for the backup QB position. One of those 3 will not be on the final roster. Maybe DiNucci gets stashed on the PS to make room for another player.

I think DiNucci just needs another year of practice and learning and then he will be the #2 backup.

Looked decent in the games I saw him fill in for Lamar.
Over the last 2 years he’s thrown 1 TD and 4 int
He’s completed a few passes in a very good offense but Gilbert looked better in his one game than RG3 has looked over the last 3 years

Would you not agree that what Gilbert had to work with in that fluke game is more than what RGIII had to work with in Baltimore?

Better receivers but no oline
Our oline was very bad last year and we never had any continuity because we kept replacing or moving players around
For an inexperienced play protection is more important that anything
I just don’t see RG3 being as good as dalton as a backup or even Hundly

I wish we had played Gilbert more so we would know if he could be a viable backup

Gilbert should've gotten more time last year. This is exactly the issue when it comes to the tanking argument. You could've started Gilbert the rest of the way and at least knew what you had this year, but nope, Dalton got them that much closer to the Super Bowl. lol There was no reason at all to keep Dalton out there and not see what you have specially at the point where they were sitting at 2-7 in early November. By then you should no doubt have 1 eye on the next season.

The offensive line was not bad in that Steelers game though.

I don't think RGIII is as good as Dalton either...but I Think his mobility brings something that Dalton had somewhat but not much. Honestly, i'd probably go with Dinucci if they still have faith in him. I'm not taking 3 QB's into the season on the roster.

So let me make sure I understand you....

You critize dak and say he's only had one good year, his rookie year..

I point out that's incorrect and provide justification as to why your criticism is incorrect and even acknowledge that it’s fair to criticize him for parts of his career so far.

Then you now say you don't want to talk about the past anymore...

A bit hypocritical....you use the past when it fits your narrative but don't want to talk about it when it doesn't.

It's like that sign at the bar. Free Drinks Tomorrow! It's a not-so-clever way of dodging the question and never having to answer for his absurd contention.

But other teams had been seeing Gilbert for 6 years before that. Does one game override those 6 years?

I always hate the argument that if the starting QB goes down the team is doomed anyway. That is not an absolute. The Eagles won the Super Bowl even though Wentz went down after the first 10-11 games. The Cowboys went 13-3 in 2016 after Romo went down. Sure that isn't the norm, but why would you just give up hope of finding a QB that can help the team win if the starter goes down?

I also don't understand being a sports fan and not believing in overcoming obstacles. Overcoming obstacles is the very nature of athletic competition.

I'm not sold on Gilbert being the answer or DiNucci showing great improvement, but I'd like to see them perform in camp before bringing in a veteran backup. For one thing, what we see from the backups currently on the roster might make us decide we don't need another. And for another, we might not have to settle on the backup options available now. (Of course, if a better option becomes available, we could just cut anyone we sign now.)

Ben isn’t ready so I’d put him on PS
I’d rather go with 2 QB’s also
I’d bring in a vet to compete with Gilbert and keep one of them
We should have got him more reps last year but it didn’t happen
But he and a vet would compete for the backup and Ben would go to PS if it was my decision

If putting him on the PS is a option then i'm all for it. I'm just not with designating 3 positions to QB.

I agree
Too many young guys we need to get on the roster at other positions
There are gonna be some great camp battles at multiple positions and some guys with talent won’t make the roster
I just hope we can get them on PS rather than lose them
If brown makes the roster we will be exposing a WR worth developing I think
My hope is one of the young WR can do enough on ST to push brown off the roster
I like brown but he is what he is and the young guys have a higher ceiling
And one of these young guys could very well be the 4th if not 3rd WR next year

Sort of off topic but you see any of these draft picks not making the team?

It is what it is. The guy did well in that Steelers game. You're not uncovering Tom Brady here. You're looking for a backup and at this point he's no worse than a 33 year old Dalton.
