Couldn't care less. QBs don't play in a vacuum. It's not the Dallas Prescott's or the Green Bay Rodgers. It's a team sport. Prescott couldn't hold any of those quarterbacks jock straps. He's not remotely close to them in talent.

Sure you couldn’t. Because it shoots your attempted point right to hell. And you don’t like it.

You're doing what people do that deny what they see with their eyes. Use statistics to alter reality.

I’m doing? Wow! Check yourself there pal! Yikes!

We have two years with Dak. If we don't win anything with him in that time it's a failure.

“Failure” has been here for 25 years. Long before Dak and this contract.

Romo won 2 playoff games in 14 years. And lost in 2 back to back win and your in games. If you want to talk about someone not showing up when it matters. Lets discuss Tony.
The difference is Dak still has time to change the narrative while Romo's is set in stone as the guy that could just never get over that hump.

They don't like that lol....they don't like when y'all bring up Tony Romo....
I don't mind it one bit actually.

Romo never got it done and getting it done is what matters. That's why I hold Dak to a high standard. Get it done and change my opinion.

When it comes to Lawrence I just say the same thing i've always said. If he's paid as a sack artist....then yeah he's overpaid and overpriced....but the mistake people made is thinking he was a sack artist.....

He managed double digits when he was hunting for the big money. Once he got it? Not so much. Now he’s a ‘run guy’.

That does not mean he should above criticism though.

He's had 2 years of double digit sacks and one of those years was barely 10. People chose to make him something he's not. I get he had the 14 sacks one year.....its like Anthony Spencer. People always wanted to make him out to be this 10 sack a season guy and judged him based on it. He wasn't.

When I look at him on film on All 22 I don't see a guy not trying to get sacks. He's just not that guy and quite frankly I never thought he was.

Romo should've lowered your expectation if anything. I can see if he was Aikman but he won nothing for you to hold the guy after him to a high standard.

Tanks deal was bad from the outset and continues to be a bad deal. At least Elliott was a top performer at the time of signing. That one may turn out to be good or bad long term, but I think the jury is still out on Elliotts deal.
I get why they signed Jaylon, Zeke and Lawrence....but they are all equally bad deals. Well i'll say this about Zeke....he had a history of performing well but it was just the position he plays......and the fact not only is this league getting away from running the football but it seems this team is as well. So knowing what this league is and where its going you could argue all 3 deals probably shouldn't have been offered. But I also understand the Cowboys thought they were contending when they signed them.

That’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion. But the rest of us remember the guy that was getting them up there near the tops in the league when it benefited him most. And stopped getting them once he achieved that deal.

He’s not a bum. He’s just grossly overpaid for what he’s producing.

‘Reasonable’ criticism is fine. Heck, criticism supported by the facts is fine. But that’s not what’s happening here. And it’s rarely what happens.
Exactly. I hate when guys say the "oh so criticism is hating now" line when they know damn well there's a difference between "hating" and criticizing someone. Its one thing to criticize someone based on facts and support it with facts. But these one sentence post don't contain that at all. And why would they? They aren't interested in having a debate or actually criticizing someone. Its all about flooding the board with their unwanted opinion.

When it comes to my favorite team I can never lower my expectations. I thought Romo was good, but he was never good enough. I feel the same way about Dak right now. Good, but not good enough YET.

My expectations for Romo were the same they are Dak right now, and the same they will be for whoever replaces for Dak one day. Get it done in the post season when it matters. I don't care about your pretty numbers.

It's the fan in me. I can't lower my expectations. I expect to be surprised every year even when I predict the team will finish 3rd or 4th in the division.

Hold on.....did he not get his contract after recording 10 sacks? That was 18th in the league lol....it wasn't like when he got the deal he was leading the league in sacks or anything.

But @jterrell said if one were to know anything about details on contracts that the Zeke contract was a steal.

Guess who knew more about contracts? ;)

But he is paid like a sack artist. I did not think he was a sack artist which is why I was against resigning him to begin with. Or resigning him for that contract

Sure. But Stephen’s bumbling had the team over a barrel. The deal should have gotten done two years sooner. Before the market exploded. Instead they played the tag game and lost and drafted Gregory and Taco - and lost.

Well that's my point. Lawrence isn't the issue. He's doing what he's done his whole career except the 14 sack season. Maybe the Cowboys thought that was his ceiling....14 sacks...maybe they got confused and thought they were re-signing Demarcus Ware. I don't know but if they expected him to do something he hadn't done his whole career but once? Then the joke was on them and their pocket book.

The problem with our FO is they don't make deals based on what's best for the team. They make deals based on what's best for the player.

That's why we are always over paying for guys and getting little in return on the field.

Wentz deserves the title of worst contract in the division. It’s the worst contract in the entire NFL by far.

Dak deserves to be 10th on the list since it emphasizes what a poor decision it was by Jerry not to sign him immediately after the 2018 season. The longer you wait the more you have to to pay.
