But, my goodness, I didnt know the extent of this epic failure of a contract negotiation re DeMarcus Lawrence. (See No. 3)

And ... 50 other players have more sacks than DLaw??? Can that be right?

Dlaws value goes far beyond a sack stats number....when you are the best player on a terrible defense it's very easy for the other team to plan exactly for you...as the defense improves so will his stats and how his Contract looks

He was one of those guys that talked incessantly about getting paid. They are usually the guys who mail it in after getting paid.

I don’t like Dak’s contract any better but he was a lot more low key about getting paid than Tank. Come to think of it I don’t think any of the guys on the team who got paid talked as much about it as Tank. Dez was the last one who was as vocal about getting paid.

Lawrence would be a better player if he wasn't supposed to be the lead dog on the defense. He is probably getting double teamed and doesn't have anyone else to take that double team off of him.

I think Dak's contract is worse. He fills a key position, DLaw doesn't. Key position players need to earn their huge contracts and Dak never came close. And then there's the fact that no one else proclaimed 'now is the time to win' until after he got paid like Dak did.

He is a very good defensive end. He has no help inside of him.
