Jaylon Smith to wear 9

I’m just here for the comments.

Mid-six figures? Damn. So much for my theory that Jerry might give him a pass based on Jerry owning the merch rights.

Be a pretty solid tax deduction once he donates it all to some impoverished nation. Guess he's got that going for him.

I’m glad he chose to switch numbers. That means he has bet on himself that he’ll rebound and have a great year and remain here. Hope he plays well this year.

Meh, just means he likes the number 9. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I just now realized that he probably chose 54 because the sum of the two individual numbers equals 9.

It will be cool to see LBs wearing different numbers.

Thats exactly why he chose 54. And by the way, Michael Gallup picked 13 since 1 and 3 added up to his college number of 4; obviously already taken by Dak when Gallup was drafted.

Dumbest thing about it to me is wasting $500,000 to change numbers not that he is wearing #9... It's not like it is going to make him play any better.

Who donates jersey's? Not like they'll keep you warm in winter. LOL

The guy is a legend in his own mind. Least likeable Cowboy player to me in a long time.
The cost is the only curiosity to me as well. I get preferring a particular number, and that he makes a lot of money, but that's pretty damn expensive for something that doesn't give equal or better value in return.

Nice observation. That's probably right.

It doesn't really matter who donates them. He could give them to Salvation Army and write it off. What people do, and what people can do, are two entirely different beasts when it comes to tax nonsense.

Man Jaylon you don't owe him nothing....I Get he's doing it because of these Romo apologists crying about but its not even that serious. You #9 now. Let's get this season starting.......
The hate is deep in this one, wonder why.

Jaylon has shown tendencies to not be very self-aware of the situation around him. He's been seen doing his swipe in celebration when he needs to be getting back in position for the next play because the opponent's offense is in a hurried mode. He's been seen seemingly being oblivious to DLaw trying to encourage the players to do better when it was actually Jaylon that he was keying on. And now he has spent his own money to buy up the inventor of his own #54 jerseys so he can switch to the #9 jersey. He doesn't seem to realize his NFL ride is most likely over after this season and that money he spent on # 54 jerseys is going to become more precious to him at that time. It's his money so he is entitled to spend it however he wants. It shows me just another example of his lack of self-awareness.

Reached out to Romo? Why? He wears a Hall of Farmer’s number and noone even blinks but he asks to wear the insignificant number 9 and everyone cries about it?

I said nothing hateful. The complete opposite. But go off....he don’t owe y’all ****. He didn’t reach out to Randy White a real champion so why the hell would he reach out to Romo?

I couldn't care less if wanted #12, it's only a number, it's pretty obvious you have a dislike for Romo from your comments, next you will be telling us you really liked Romo.
