Did the Cowboys try to Trade Smith?

I'm not softening nothing. I'm all in LVE's ability.

I didn't claim Dallas would. I said that's what I would do but I moved off that opinion some when reading others perspective. I just liked the thought of having a claim to his rights so if we did move on we could trade him.

The problem when you argue is you just make stuff up. You are like Tim Taylor when Wilson tells him a story and you try to repeat it back to Jill. You just botch it bro.

Whatever ability LVE had has been hampered by injuries. He is too big and slow in coverage. He is a liability where you say he is one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL.

The injuries have robbed him of his quickness and his willingness to stick his nose in there and be aggressive. The Cowboys know it, that's why they didn't pick up his option. Everyone knows it but you. Maybe some day you will get something right. I will be waiting to congratulate and agree with you.

I do too except Ranching doesn’t know that’s it hurts your franchise in the long run to win meaningless games just for the sake of winning.
He's a former HC! He believes in building and maintaining a winning culture.
That's his mindset. I respect that.

"Sources said a number of teams had their pro scouts look review Smith’s tape, but they did not like what they saw, so their organizations declined to pursue him in a trade.”

Lol

Lol indeed. The guy is a total bum and we roll him out there on Sundays like he's some lynchpin to a Dynasty run.

I despise Jaylon Smith's presence on this team to the point I hope his Mom reads the forum to put a foot in his *** for embarrassing the family.

I am not happy with his play at all but I hope he sticks around just to make you foam at the mouth.

This really should should be egg on every blowhard that has argued Jaylon was being unfairly criticized and that he was actually ballin’ based on tackle numbers.

His play has declined since 2019 (not just last year as is conveniently claimed).
But he led the league in assists.

Rumor is they had a trade during the draft and Stephen nixed it.
No data on what the trade brought back but presumably it was AFTER the Parsons pick so obviously less than an R1.

A team trading for him would only have taken on 7.2m GTD this year though next years 9.2m guarantees 5 days into the league year next year.
With the ability to massively lower cap hits he could offer appeal to many teams.

DAL would have owed about +1M in dead money this year but been totally off the hook then.
If this is true, and Im not doubting you, that deal should have gotten done.

This is really good news folks. I said before the draft if we got LB’s it would be very telling of what they think. This just adds to what they really think. At least they aren’t blind!

LVE too big and slow? My gosh watch some football please.

-Jaylon Smith is a great Lber
-LVE is one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL and they will pick up his 5th year option
-Dalton will be better for the offense than Dak
-You will soon learn about "Dalton efficiency"
-Dalton will lead us to the playoffs
-CB's are no longer a prime position
-CB's arent important in Quinns offense
-Picking Parsons would be like the Cowboys taking Taco.
-Beatheard and Kaaya are better QB's than Mahomes

These are all the laughable comments that blew up in your face. You couldnt teach a 5 year old kid about football.

Dallas thought someone would take on that contract?

It wouldn't be all that bad for another team to take it. It's only as bad for Dallas because they constantly use his contract to free up space.

We'll see how much control Quinn has very early on. If Smith isn't riding the pine early in the season, Quinn is just here to go through the motions like fat Mike.
