There is no way to measure which is more important. We are obviously dead in the water without either one so perhaps it is a moot point to be pointing out which one means more to the Cowboy's hopes for the playoffs.

With a beat up oline, 4 different QB’s we still avg 24 points a game
If the defense had limited teams just a few more points we would have won more
If the defense plays better it will make the offense better but you can’t give up the points per game we did last year and win

Dak keeps the defense off the field and rested, while the defense gives us a better chance of having more attempts for Dak to score. They need each other.

Based on what we saw last season....clearly they need BOTH...when Dak was healthy the defense sucks...when the QB's sucked......the defense sucked......

Dalton averaged 21 points a game. Dak averaged 32.

And yah, if the defense was passable we win more games.
