Will Zeke have a bounce back year?

Maybe he can break a 32 yard run? The guy has zero home run ability. Can't be gone soone enough.
Talent wise he is easily top 5. Probably higher.

I just don't think he wants IT deep down.

He has a college ring and all the money he needs.

I question that he has the heart and desire to be great.

Ezekiel Elliott is much more talented and a gifted athlete than Emmitt Smith.

One is the all time leading rusher w multiple championships. The other argues on Twitter when someone comments that he lost a step.

Much more talented than Emmitt Smith? lol That’s flat out ridiculous. Whatever some need to do to build this clown up, but even on his best day he’s no Emmitt.

I appreciate the effort you put in this post but nobody is afraid of zeke anymore. Their are at least 5-7 Ish running backs that would’ve outplayed Zeke if they played in Dallas the past two years.

Henry
Cook
CMC
Chubb
Kamara

maybe even Aaron Jones.

BS
Henry may be the only one. Kamara is over rated, he can't carry the team on his own.

No, that's not the problem. Not at all.

The problem is Zeke not being in tiptop shape. Period. Only Z can fix that. Up to know, he hasn't shown the desire. Guess we'll find out if the manchild will ever grow up.
Have you seen him this year he is in shape and still working his butt off

He’s been just average the last two years playing on a similar level to Melvin Gordon.
I think so. I think the offense as a whole:
RBs(Zeke and Pollard a great 1-2)
OL rested, healthy and getting most back.
WR corps best in league and they and Dak will be clicking on all cylinders come Fall. I truly believe as long as we don’t have a devestating Injury to anyone this could be a Greatest Show on Turf 2.0.

Wr just need a middle of the pack defense who can create some turnovers.

11th in rushing with essentially his entire line gone, and 4 QB's. LOL The zone never ceases to give a good laugh.

well it depends on what ewok wants to do and his attitude.
Also depends on if kellen can start to understand the run game and if they create some better blocking schemes.
I am not expecting any of that to bounce back lol.

my thoughts on the aforementioned backs (per pre-knee injured Barkley)

- Chubb has never been a big speed guy but yet he breaks a lot of 20+ and even 40+ yards .. is that just a quite an surprising knack for a guy with average athleticism and physical tools ?
or a guy that pounds and wears out a defense thru a game so much that It eventually opens up those huge splash runs in 2nd half or last quarter/late stages of games.

- Henry is a 250+ pound guy yet he breaks off several 20-40+ yard runs, and he’s railroad train with a ton of load carries yet at this point he is not showing signs of decline or slowing down.
He’s still showing an impressive straight line burst and build up acceleration for someone his size.

- I thought Kamara was far more effective as a spell guy behind ex-Saint Mark Ingram, …he still gets a fair share amount of plays, but it doesn’t come out as often as it did post-Ingram
and when Brees was still playing at a high level. He still among the very top multi run/catch RBs in entire NFL. But without Brees i think the load is gonna be a real challenge for him
this time around.

- Arron Jones is also among the top most dangerous run-catch back – but he works best when he doesn’t get an overload of reps and touches.
if the touch toll gets over-ceded, he can wear down, and I’ve seen where that results in injuries and even fumble turnovers.
But he can be so lethal slippery and agile as both a runner/receiver. He’s been one of those that torture the hell outta us.

- McCaffrey also is another guy that I believe you have to be cautious and scheme his amount of toll and touches because he’s injury prone.
And I think he’s tops among most dangerous multi run/catch RBs. You cannot put him into any scheme, with any coach, imo.

- Cowboys actually had a 1st round grade on Davin Cook, he has that choppy, jerky stop-restart style of running, and can really explode into 2nd level and has developed
into being dangerous as a receiver. On the minus side, Cook doesn’t have top durability nd yet another that can be injury prone , that could play big in his contract hunt.

I expect him to have a good year (1,100-1,200 yards, 8-10 TDs) because he’s a “good” back and a healthy line, QB, and a potent passing attack should benefit him.

I don’t think he’s a great RB or anything close to the guy we saw in 2016.

And that has been a problem for the Cowboys for a really long time. We get "good" performance from the players who are supposed to be great.

I think that is probably a good projection because McCarthy is not a RB pounding Coach. I think if Zeke matures and trains correctly he can be back to 2016 form for the most part. McCarthy won't use him like we did in 2016. His pass first mentality should lighten the load on Zekes body.

I love Zekes talent but don't have much faith in his dedication or maturity to be a true professional at his craft like Emmitt was. Emmitt had a desire to be the best ever. Zeke wanted to get paid like the best ever.

are you clueless??

when had MG been top 4 back in the league??, Zeke in fact in 2019 was ranked 4TH IN THE LEGUE 30 YARDS SHORT OF 3RD WHERE CMac finished...

you call that average? no 100 backs finishing top 5 is not average..

He did say over the last 2 years, so maybe he meant it literally in that way?

Comparison over the last two years:

Yards per attempt (what they do with their carries vs how many carries they get)
Elliot - 4.29
Gordon - 4.24

TDs
Elliot - 18
Gordon - 17

20+ yard runs
Elliot - 7
Gordon - 7

40+ yard runs
Elliot - 0
Gordon - 2
