Benching > 400lbs
Squatting > 700lbs tell me I'm not crazy, and you are in fact misinformed.

That's impressive...I wonder if that's enough to make the top 10?

I mean Travis Frederick has been quoted as saying Tyron Smith benches between 600-700lbs, and I know both Gallimore and McGovern set records at their respective college's benching over 500lbs, I believe McGovern tore his pec attempting 515lbs. But maybe you could give me some figures for the other O-line players, I admit I do need to be better informed. Regardless.....this is all weight room stuff. In terms of NFL play strength, I guarantee Odigi isn't throwing Martin around.

I would sure think its enough, but to be fair we have some beasts along that oline. You may be right. Tyron is a freak of nature.

Give Osa a couple years of NFL strength and conditioning and I'd be suprised if he's not the undisputed strongest man on the team.

I also believe strength fades with reps, and then the big guys rely on that extra weight, that Osa doesn't have.

It's 2023, bros. Things are looking up. Jerry's older. McCarthy's fatter. Prescott's in prison. The Cowboys are emerging as serious contenders with a young QB and a developing defense. They even drafted a running back that they can find a helmet for.

But who is the better player on this new and improved defense? Gallimore or Odigizumomma?

Pick one and only one. I'll grade your response later.

Cowboys!

Based on ability, I believe it would be Gallimore. He's quick and fast for a player weighing more than 300 pounds. He's also strong, Those are the reasons he was viewed as a possible second-rounder. The reasons he was available in the third round is because his technique needed a lot of work. He comes out of his stance too high at times, allowing the offensive linemen to get the leverage advantage, and he doesn't use his hands well.

Why Odighizuwa may end up being the better player is because his use of his hands and superior arm length makes up for the fact that he's only 280 pounds. He has the know-how to play the position, which is why we took him in the third round, but not the physical prowess, which was why he was rated a fourth-round pick. That's why I expect to see Osa on the field on early downs instead of Gallimore or Hill. He won't be caught making technical mistakes, which will allow him to stand in there better against run-blocking. Of course, who's out there will depend on the technical development of the other players.

Plenty of players with lesser physical traits and greater technical work have had success in the league, so it won't be a surprise if Odighizuwa ends up having a better career than Gallimore. But if Gallimore can get the technical aspects down, he should be the better player because of his physical skills.

Better in terms of what? How do we measure this, sacks, tackles, takeaways, tackles behind the line....which of these?

I don't mind if the DT's aren't getting huge sack numbers, I'm looking at our run defense in 2020 and I want our guys to stop them at the line. I want to see the opponents with 2nd and 7 or 8, not 2nd and 2 or 3. Let our EDGE's and LB's and secondary make the glamour plays, I just want the DT's to get in the way and clog things up.

If either one of these guys can just stand their ground then I'm happy with them. My opinion is that they are both better if they are together on some rotation that keeps them fresh and allows them to go all out each play they are in.

Which one is better doesn't really matter, competing and making each other better so they can both make the team better is the important thing.

Now that we hired Ben McAdoo, the talent ceiling holding this franchise back has been shattered.

Gallimore = Warren Sapp
Osa Digzyourmomma = John Randle

Gonna be awesome.... Cowboys!!

I think OSA has more potential as he is a more well rounded player/athlete. But it's hard to compare since he hasn't played a down yet.

By my count it's deadlocked 8 to 8.

So basically you guys don't know. I could have asked a wall and gotten the same clarity.

Well, putting a dress on a pig would have been better than what we have had there, so Gallimore and Osa are celebrated.

I get what you’re saying. I was using those statements to point out that despite both being 3Ts, they’re very different players, not to argue that they’re going to be great because of those things or because the coaches said them. In fact, I was using Swiss Army Knife as a reason Osa’s development could actually stall, because he’s being moved around and not mastering one thing (basically saying that I hope his development doesn’t follow in the footsteps of Crawford’s).
No more Crawfords, please.

And Dallas fans, Tyron Crawford has finally retired!

Gallimore is the Canadian Bulldozer, showed something last year, at least to me. Loved them drafting some D Line guys this year even Osa, he's a rookie and I don't expect a whole lot but more than they have for awhile. Even a nose-tackle. Hard to believe. Gotta be Quinn's influence because no way Spaulding/Smails do that otherwise.

Nice use of the Caddyshack reference. Bonus points for the dismount.

I can't help but think of Smails and Spaulding when it comes to Jerry and Stephen. Can't get it out of my head. I love the movie and think of them in the same regard even though I love the "characters". LOL

I think Gallimore if he can meet his potential, which would be a good, well-rounded 3T (not necessarily a pro bowler).
Osa profiles more as a nickel rusher, IMO. Good role player, but shouldn't play on first and second down (another Maliek Collins).

"Long arms" LOL "Swiss Army Knife" LOL "Tyrone Crawford Type" LOL

Wow, you guys just eat up whatever the coaches say and adopt it almost word for word. Always get a kick out of that.

So what exactly are the coaches going to say about a player they decided to use a third round pick on?

Maybe they should just reply "eh, he's alright I guess. Maybe we can use him in the preseason and on the field goal block team once in a while; if we decide to bring him off the practice squad."

We have such a pessimistic fan base a lot of people label a player a bust before he even suits up for a game. That should get kicks out of even more people.
