My main thing is: People should hold off on the anointing oil until the offense proves that they are a top offense in the league. It's kinda embarassing, having a bunch of homers each year proclaim superbowl, only to watch them come up with excuses later on. If the cowboys are a top offense, with should be seeing it through the course of the seasons and say wow that offense is dominating teams.
they were one of the top offenses. at times inconsistent, I give you that. I have never proclaimed superbowl as I don't think we have the right team right now and I am 10% hopeful given past 25 years of jerry mismanagement.

if this is not easily a top 10 offense (more like top 5), then there is something seriously wrong.

No reach. 100% facts. Of course I didn't expect you'd to admit to such a thing but I remember clearly because it informed me of why you're such a Cowboys CONSPIRACY! pusher. Fear is your motivator. You need to create a boogey man that unfairly holds the Cowboys down so you can defend against people making fun of the Cowboys losing. Then you can say we didn't really lose, it was CONSPIRACY! Fear of being labeled a loser by association. This is why you talk sooooo much about the media talking bad about the Cowboys but pretending it doesn't bother you and you find it "humorous." It clearly touches a nerve.

So what's Mara's and Goodell's plan this year against us? Lol.
Crazy to bring 10 year old drama from a board that yall got shut down for drama on the road. Yall refugees have been a huge negative since your migration.

To be fair the Cowboys have already been the best offense in the NFL when healthy over the past two seasons. So to that end it's not beyond the pale to wonder if they will be #1 overall again this year. Even if they're not actually #1 I don't doubt that they will be in the top 5 in both scoring and yards as long as not too many guys get hurt.. Especially the QB. It's fair to adjudge the Chiefs and Bucs to be better at this point but the fact remains that over the course of the first 5 games last year the Cowboys were better than both of them. The Cowboys scored more points and racked up more yards in that stretch than either the Bucs or the Chiefs. Who knows if they would have been able to keep it up if guys had not started dropping like flies but at least for that stretch they were superior. Ironically it's the running back everybody loves to hate who tips the scales in favor of the Cowboys IMHO. The receivers are as good as anyone.. the QB is either top 5 or top 10 depending on which media outlet you believe. The offensive line will be top 5 if it can stay healthy. The TE group is going to be very strong if Jarwin can make it all the way back and pair with a very solid Schultz. Zeke and Pollard are better than the tandems KC and Tampa roll out so this is not really as big a stretch as some are making it out to be. But again, rankings don't mean jack.. Win games.. however the F you have to do it.
I would rather be top #5 than #1....being #1 may indicate we are struggling defensively again and have to play metal to the pedal and score in bunches in order to keep up, as we did in 2020.....#5 would mean, we are good, scoring but defense is good enough to allow us run out the clock in the 4th, control the ball, finish the game......

Yes because doing worse is more advantageous than doing better. That is some special kind of homer logic there.

This narrative that the offense doesn’t do well against top defenses is a myth. The Cowboys have done as well as any other offense against these top defenses.

Let's look at that. In 2019, when our offense was healthy, we scored 10 points in a 12-10 loss to New Orleans, 9 points in a 13-9 loss to New England, 15 points in a 26-15 loss to Buffalo and 9 points in a 17-9 loss to Philly. Those are all losses where the offense was more at blame than the defense.

The Saints gave up an average of 23.1 points per game (13th overall). The Patriots gave up an average of 14.1 points per game (1st). The Bills gave up 16.2 points per game (16th). The Eagles gave up 22,1 points per game (15th).

Now, if you consider us to have one of the top offenses in the league, then we should do better than average against even the better defenses (and some of these defenses were just average in points allowed). To have the type of offense that can carry a mediocre defense, we can't struggle to score points in games like these. Granted, the conditions in New England were terrible and we did score 37 against the Eagles in the first meeting, but we scored 17-20 points and we win three of those and finish 11-5.
