Anybody who is down on fresh meat or even Wheat products, you might want to just run by the store and pick up some fresh meat and bread while you can.

Ponds hacked...... hurry and stock up on water.

Turn on the news man. I mean, it's pretty much all over. Hey, I got nothing against you but don't be a jackwagon. I saw this come across the wire yesterday afternoon. I simply made a post to give people a heads up because you know, when this kind of stuff happens, people buy up everything and then what comes back in is twice as expensive. If it wasn't up to your very high standards, in terms of information, you have my apologies. But I don't owe you a damn thing other then that.

What is the problem here?

Turn on your TV if you want more info.

Well.....you could have included the info you provided in post #6 with your original post. Would've helped with post integrity.

OK. I'm sure this is all my fault. In future, I just won't make a post like that so that it doesn't offend anybody's sensibilities.

We are not Israel and you are taking this conversation in a direction that's going to get it closed. I'm telling you now, this will not turn out well.

Fair enough. Let's just say the country's infrastructure is vulnerable and these attacks will continue to escalate. Get used to it.

Hey, I'd love to be able to sit down and have a good honest discussion over this with you. But it's just not a thing here and I get it. It always spins out of control and nobody wants to have to deal with that.

I'll just say that I am aware of how this will work. There is a reason we had the policies we had in place previously. But we can't really discuss it like that. It just won't end well.

They were hacked a week or so ago. Lots of hacking events going on. Glad we invested in space force instead of having a legitimate cyber security branch. This is the modern battefront and we're woefully behind.

We already have a Cybersecurity agency, but all they can do is recommend actions for private companies to take. It would take an act of congress to either give them authority to regulate private businesses or to mandate certain security measures.

I am retired now but I used to be in the cybersecurity field. These ransomware attacks have been going on for a long time. It used to be the hackers would attack PCs on the network, lock them and ask for Bitcoin to unlock them. I guess they figured out they could lock servers the same way and shut down critical company servers - and ask for even more Bitcoin to restore the systems.

At this point no one should be in a position to be extorted. The bad guys are scanning every system on the internet looking for one with a flaw they can exploit. They are pumping out phishing emails and text messages hoping 1 idiot opens it an clicks on the link inside. There are lots and lots of systems to target and it only takes one mistake to succeed. Every single system admin should already have a plan of how to deal with this problem if they are attacked. There are lots of ways to protect a company network. Just pick one and create a plan just in case. Having backs ups and a recovery plan is a start.

LOL..... If you don't like it or you don't need the suggestion, don't read it. Apparently, it's the kind of half=assed thread that is not for you. What kind of half assed question, from you, was that?

I'll be honest with ya, I didn't know if you were serious, or if it was gonna be some kinda joke about a butcher hacking meat or something. I don't really watch the news very often.

JBS which is one of the largest beef producing companies in the country had their computer systems hacked.

They had to shut down operations for a couple days. But are back up and running. So hopefully not much impact.

i know people who work for JBS. One of their plants is pretty close to where I live.

Also, knowing meat industry practices a little bit. I would imagine they’ll all be working mandatory overtime the next week or so to “catch up”.
