Reason to worry about Kelvin Joseph?

Mods will get it, surely.

But while I've got you. Don't you think it's ridiculous that we create these strict standards for a 20 yr old black kid who's created a successful rap career for himself and volunteered to transfer to a different program, but can't call any attn whatsoever to the white dude with aggression problems on record for beating his GF and was actually kicked out of school and forced to transfer? One of these guys presents a potentially serious problem and one of these is a silly problem, and for some reason, we choose to focus on the silly one. Do you wonder why?
Race card played-I did not know Josh Ball was drafted in the early 2nd round!

He and Miranda jumped into her new car and hasn't been seen since.

Seriously, Joseph was the youngest player taken in the 2021 draft, about a month younger than Pitts. However, he's surrounded by some good people, he'll be okay.

Is it race or a mix of draft position and the team needing a CB to contribute sooner?

And maybe there is a perfectly reasonable explanation. The writer admits he has no idea. He's just suggesting something negative to draw attention to his tweets, knowing full well a portion of the Cowboy fan base will take the bait. Until we know something different this is a non story.
Of course since he's now a Cowboy, maybe not. :p

Do you really think that a like has any value to it?

Until they put a dislike button on here, a LIKE is just a participation award that we give to the kids.
Wait...what??? I thought once we got enough LIKES, Reality would start greasing the rails for us.

I mean, just listen to his secret audio when the Cowboys call him. Major red flag to anyone reasonable.

Seriously don't have any idea what you are hearing that is concerning. He says "yes sir" "appreciate you" and "thank you" to Jerry and "appreciate you all believing in me" to McCarthy. Just because his tone is unexcited, speaks with a drawl, and doesn't say much, that's a problem?

Most recognize Joseph's "problems" aren't anywhere close to the "white dude," and his DV. Joseph is a 2nd round pick though. Most don't have the same expectations for the DV player. Joseph could be special.

I don't know where you've been but that particular player has been criticized up and down Dallas radio and podcasts. He's not getting a pass.

Good friend of mine has a kid playing at Kentucky. He said this guy was a problem in the locker room and around campus in general. Unreliable and listens to nobody. That's why LSU said bye.

And LSU will put up with a LOT.
Yeah I thought it was virtually impossible for a football player to get kicked out of LSU.

Joseph could be just like Marcus Peters and Talib type personality. He actually reminds me of them on the field a little. I hope he has their talent as well.

Agree. Crazy thing is as good as those two are their teams get tired of them in the locker room pretty quickly...not a good thing

Or Mr. Fat, if he would prefer.

Could be nothing. Could be the start of what LSU and Kentucky already know.

This won't end well. I'd stake every like on it.

Do you think it’s possible he was in jail?
Maybe he was scoring some smack.
Perhaps he was purchasing a bengal tiger
Could be he was in the Arctic clubbing baby seals

Or

Holding the hand of his dying mother
Rescuing a chuld from a burning building
Brokering peace in the Middle East
Delivering a baby in the back of a cab

But we don’t know. He just wasn’t in practice ... once

I'd say he's getting a pass here. And I'm not even saying we should kick the guy off the team. He deserves a chance to prove himself just like Joseph.

I get the whole, higher draft argument. That does make Joseph more important and subject to higher scrutiny. But it's also obvious to me that he's not getting the benefit of the doubt among some (not all!) here that Ball is. I don't think it's intentional, but we tend to approach certain players as if they're destined to fail for x,y,z. The first sign of any 'trouble' and ppl act like, 'yup, knew it all along'. It's a self fulfilling prophecy where some fans treat certain players like they're bad (mostly due to reputation), and then point to everything that pops up, matter how silly, as justification for their prejudice against that player.

I'm just pointing out that this has happened several times with Joseph since the draft, and not once with a guy who has an infinitely more serious problem. Yeah, their draft status isn't the same, but neither are the 'concerns'. One guy is immature; the other is violent. I'd say the latter bears more watching over the former. And yet, none of us care to look him up, read his IG comments etc. Is it because we assume he's redeemed himself while Joseph is just destined to fail? I'd say that's at the heart of it, and I question why

I see your point. However, I think more than he's getting a pass here, he just hasn't been talked about. I dont know why that is, but with exception of his draft thread I can't recall him even being brought up. Nonetheless I can't say your wrong.

Joseph is a flashier player, who we are expecting to slide into a starting role at some point this season. I don't believe many have the same expectations for Ball.

I also think we are a bit shell shocked after Irving and then Zeke's off season shenanigans. Then you read the draft evaluations and Joseph's history leading up to the draft. There are many who are habitually negative on here and have already dismissed Joseph. This, however minor it may be only adds fuel to the fire. For the record I'm not one of those. I read about his tenure at Kentucky and how Stoops managed the situation and it all seemed pretty positive imo. Hopefully he has his head on straight and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I know otherwise.

I know the tweets amount to "nothing" at this time of the year. Except, I'd sure rather NOT see them from someone who had question marks already. The reason he was available in the second round is because his maturity was being questioned. No matter how you slice it, he had some kind of issue with his teams in college.

So, for me the tweets aren't "nothing." I'd much rather not see them at all.

It's no different than the Wright kid. I heard what a reach he was. Even though OTAs aren't training camp, practice or live games, if we were seeing reports of him struggling, it wouldn't be what we hoped for. So, even though OTAs mean "nothing," I am encouraged that Wright's looking good so far.

Fair or not, the tweets about/from Joseph aren't encouraging.
