Reason to worry about Kelvin Joseph?

I 100% want the past issues to be just that, PAST ISSUES.

It's too early to tell if that's the case right now, and all we have to go on is his history.

I'm sure it's probably nothing and we may never hear another thing about it. I just can't give him the benefit of the doubt yet on these things until he shows that the character concerns are over with and that takes time.

I worry about this guy. We better not be counting on him to be consistent. SIGN RICHARD SHERMAN. We need insurance.

this is a YOU Issue, a Fan issue, not one person in the DC FO or coaching organization cares whether you are encouraged or discouraged with players. They have it handled and worrying about this in early Off season OTAS is a useless waste of energy..we are 3 months away from the real deal..

let it go..fans making it their concern and their business is just internet ramblings and mean absolutely nothing..the issue here is the internet and SM and the media reporting every fart or misstep coming from the teams to generate clicks, thats it..and you all fall for clickbait and help the media when they are reporting garbage. If it actually becomes an issue we can discuss it..

Im sure the DC staff have it covered and the response while odd is just some slang most here doesnt understand and most likely meant he didnt like being judged when there is most likely valid reason for his absence..

worry about you wand what you can control in your life..the rest as they say Dont sweat it

I'm not "sweating it." But it isn't "nothing," which is what I said. I'm pretty sure i didn't insinuate that I was sweating it.

As a fan, I reserve the right to listen and respond to off season news, no matter how trivial another fan might find it.

I get it, you don't find the tweets relevant. Your take doesn't bother me one bit. I hope you're right and that it's much ado about nothing. Why would you take issue with me saying that I'd rather NOT hear things like this?

He presented a fair argument. Also no such thing as race card

I think his argument was questionable. For starters, there was a lot of discussion of Ball, especially around the time of his draft pick. But those threads got heated and some vitriol was thrown between posters arguing for or against him, so I think the mods curtailed those threads because they were getting out of hand.

Two, Joseph is a second round pick, Ball is a late round pick. Any second rounder is going to get way more scrutiny than a late round pick.

Thirdly, Joseph had issues at LSU and UK, some surrounding his commitment to football. So when he's a no show and there is no update as to why from the team, it's going to inevitably lead to questions given his past history.

Mods will get it, surely.

But while I've got you. Don't you think it's ridiculous that we create these strict standards for a 20 yr old black kid who's created a successful rap career for himself and volunteered to transfer to a different program, but can't call any attn whatsoever to the white dude with aggression problems on record for beating his GF and was actually kicked out of school and forced to transfer? One of these guys presents a potentially serious problem and one of these is a silly problem, and for some reason, we choose to focus on the silly one. Do you wonder why?

I personally am sick to my stomach that we drafted the Ball, but he will be the fourth option at the tackle spot if games started today whereas Dallas actually needs Joseph to be Diggs 2.0 right now if they are to be better than last season at the corner position.

Having said all of that, I bet this turns out to be a nothing burger.

I said that I thought our starting 3 corners are Lewis, Brown and Diggs.

Its a tall task to ask Joseph to be ready RIGHT NOW. he has all of training camp to make his mark and even then I expect him to take a backseat to the veterans. Let's remember that yes Joseph has a ceiling of a 1st round talent but he's far from that now....well...maybe not far from it but he's nowhere near his ceiling.

But i would've preferred that Joseph be in a position where he can hit the ground running, and off to a good start- much in the same sense as we seem to be hearing about Nahshon Wright already making his presence felt.

don't get me wrong, i don't/didnt' expect Joseph to be All pro and dominating day one of OTAs - even Diggs had his dog days in last year's rookie training camp., before he began to get more settled by
camp's end.

But it's not only just unfortunate Joseph is not currently in these set of OTA's but also unfortunately that there has not been any reports that would indicate why KJ is not presently in camp.
Injury related ? ... Family personal matters ?

This is the risk with him. This was the type of scrutiny he has earned for himself. My hope is it's nothing and the cowboys are aware and ok with whatever is going on but right now we don't know.

The haters don’t like the drama that comes with drafting a player that has a history of being immature and having attitude problems. Cheering and only seeing sunshine with every move the team makes does not change reality and you choose to overlook reality when it comes to the Cowboys. Parsons and Joseph has some serious character concerns before they was drafted. When they was drafted and became Cowboys, those character concerns didn’t go away. Actually, becoming a Cowboy may make the problems much worse. I hope both of them matured and have a great careers, but judging from their past, they will continue to have character concerns.
Totally agree. Unfortunately for these young players, they are coming to a team with a front office who has a history of enabling immature behavior with a lack of clear direction and leadership many of these kids need and even crave at this point in their lives. These players will have to find a way to grow up and produce around the circus that the Jones have created.

I get the question marks because of his past but he had an illness. Personally i don't think too much of it but hopefully he gets healthy and gets on the practice field. Rookies need all the reps they can get and Joseph has the potential to be a lock down corner.

Before coming down on Joseph, I would rather know 1st if coaches approved his absent. I have seen nothing except he was not on the field did not indicate if he was at the complex or any reasons for not being there. What took place with Parson at Penn St or Joseph at LSU is not a concern, what they do here with the Cowboys is. There may be a very good reason why he was not at this OTA until I know more I see no reason to come down on him.

Seriously don't have any idea what you are hearing that is concerning. He says "yes sir" "appreciate you" and "thank you" to Jerry and "appreciate you all believing in me" to McCarthy. Just because his tone is unexcited, speaks with a drawl, and doesn't say much, that's a problem?
I would say the lack of excitement is weird! Otherwise nothing wrong with it, but that is just an odd reaction to the situation - like he was not even interested!

Note, I am not saying he did anything nefarious here. But when he wasn't at practice, it's certainly fair for the media to wonder/ask where he is, especially based on his history.

Isn't it amazing how you can pull individual words completely out of context and change the whole intent of what was written?

You should be a journalist.

May as well block anyone that douchey they go out of their way in order to take you out of context.

You are right. All that we have to judge him on is his past behavior and that is not a good thing. Several fans expressed their excitement because the Cowboys drafted thugs. Thugs are gonna do thug things and it will always be a concern.

So, how does any of your response answer the question. What's wrong with me rather not hearing something like this?

Your opinion is yours. No more valid than mine. Mine thought is, "I'd rather the news, no matter how trivial, sound good rather than bad." Your opinion seems to be that we shouldn't discuss anything you deem to be inconsequential.

Our latest and greatest irresponsible second round brat is already showing signs of irresponsibility but rest assured there is nothing to worry about.
