Also attending: Raider's Darren Waller, Lion's T.J. Hockenson, Falcon's Kyle Pitts, Raven's Mark Andrews, Dolphin's Mike Gesicki, Packer's Robert Tonyan, Bronco's Noah Fant, Eagle's Zach Ertz, Bear's Cole Kmet, Patriot's Jonnu Smith, Steeler's Eric Ebron and Brown's David Njoku.
I wish we’d have grabbed Andrews. Kid’s a stud.

I don’t think with this offense it’s a position to spend high draft capital on
The majority of the targets are gonna be the WR’s because of the talent there

That ‘talent’ might not be ‘there’ for too long.

From what I see, Gallup will be a free agent we can’t afford to keep next year, while Cooper’s big contract looks like one we can and likely must get out of in 2022.

I think it’s likely that Lamb will be the last man standing of the top three receivers as soon as next year.

  • I think Jarwin is the better receiver but Schultz is the better all-around player.
Jarwin is the better downfield target. "Overall" can depend on how a person weighs certain elements, and of course, to fairly judge we need to see Jarwin in the every game starter role where teams game plan for him.

I personally don't think it's a big issue anyway because both can be positive players for the team, although neither is going to step up ahead of Cooper, Lamb or Gallup as a target.

Doesn't matter. We had to trot a TE out there, didn't we?

Jarwin's career average per catch is 11.6 to Schultz' 9.7. Almost 2 full yards better. You put that guy out there way more than you do the other guy, don't you? If so, why not?

Because one is durable and the other hasn't proved he is?

Not sure why Schultz has your disdain. He played well.

If Jarwin beats him out for TE1 then so be it, but we potentially have 2 plus-players at the position on a team loaded with outside weapons.

I love that Schultz is not sitting back satisfied in his play but instead is working on his skills to be a better player. I think he surprised many of us last season on how he capitalized on the opportunity when Jarwin went down and now he looks as if he is not willing to just sit back and hand the job back.

I could see if he was 6'5 and weighed 220 but he is over 250, that is not undersized in the least. Spud Webb in the NBA now that was undersized.

:hammer:

Exactly right!

He’s a professional football player. With his own career and livelihood to think about. And he’s coming off of a surprising career season, one in which he finished in the top 10 in several categories for his position. It looks like some don’t realize that.

He’s also headed to free agency to earn the best contract he can, whether that’s in Dallas or (likely) elsewhere. He’s not resting on his laurels or simply going back to the bench. Nor should he.[/QUOTE]

They removed any chance of a TE being a big part of this offense after they invested in a third starting WR.

Dalton started in 14 games and had 89 targets.

Now of course we were losing most games and it's a safe assumption this team passed it more than if we still had a healthier offense/competent defense.

But he was close to triple targets last year with a variety of QB's. Think we can get a TE involved enough even with Gallup/Coop/CDL.

The good part of that is there seems to be several good WR prospects in every draft the last few years
And hopefully someone on the roster now can step up, develop and replace Gallup
But I just don’t see them keeping Schultz and Jarwin
One will be gone next year

I would imagine they would love to keep both Jarwin and Schultz, assuming Jarwin can perform as well as many believe he will. But Schultz contract will be up, so it may just be a matter of cost.

I have to think that drafting Fehoko was done with an eye toward the future and changes to come. And it was also (initially) surprising to see so much of a focus made on signing (and keeping) wide receivers.

I definitely think this is the last ride of Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb as a group.
