Not saying can’t overcome but once there is history it’s in the back of your mind. It’s a concern. And it becomes part of the narrative . Whether it’s concussions , a knee, back, neck, etc.

Then Dallas and the other 31 teams in the NFL have that concern. All teams have players with past injury problems. Hard to play in the NFL without getting some kind of injury or injuries. Its like being in a car wreck every week.

So he was otherwise a stand up guy until he was triggered by having to wait for a haircut. Who can blame him, right?
I don't know what he was. My point is Irvin was homegrown so for someone hate him must've been something personal. Hardy, Pac, etc....they all brought baggage to the Cowboys. Dez and Irvin didn't.

Him stabbing a teammate come much later........He didn't come to Dallas with issues that we knew of.
If you ever get the chance to watch the game between UM and UT where they acted like total aholes on the sideline with the taunting and were called out for their behavior by every sports outlet, take a really close look at the one leading them. Word was that he had some explaining to do for Landry in order for him to give him a pass. According to someone I knew with the team back then, Landry saw some Hollywood in him and that was not his kind of player.

Dez didn't bring baggage? Didn't he get arrested for hitting his momma?

I understand. I don't agree but I understand. Like I said for someone to dislike Dez or Irvin it has to be something personal.

The Cowboys are simply not built to withstand injury to the QB1. What team paying their QB that much is set up for that?

It is calculated risk and that was a freak injury to a player not prone to injury. One thing no one can argue, Prescott is one tough QB.

In a league where there are not 32 staring caliber QB's, how is any to have a really good backup? Fitzpatrick was the best and he got a QB1 job and I love the guy, he's great for the game, but he has never been a quality QB1.

That's how he was able to step in as the 3rd stringer and manage the games, that's all they asked him to do because there hadn't been ample time to do everything a QB has to do.

However, I have seen just what Aikman has seen and didn't think he would, a QB that has improved every season. There's a reason he bought a place where he could build a football field. The man works at it and I admire that in any athlete.

Yes I agree.. Dak is a very good player.. He’s just horrific value and easily replaceable for what he provides on the field.

I mean Andy Dalton came in and had a better winning % and he wasn’t very good.

Not at all. Their off field thuggish and or criminal behavior certainly leaves much not to desire.

Without their football skills and contributions to the Cowboys I doubt they are guys we’d like personally.

Maybe for some franchises but not this dysfunctional organization.

Without stumbling on to Romo or Dak this era we probably wouldn’t have a division title in last couple decades.

ONCE AGAIN....that came AFTER He got to the Cowboys. Its alleged he hit her.

So acting up after being drafted makes those actions excusable? Not sure what your point is now.. I also think it's funny you're downplaying his actions by talking about, "allegedly." It was enough for him to be arrested, just like Hardy.

Orange Bowl, I believe it was in Miami, it's been a while and I might be wrong on UM's opponent, might have been ND or OU. I just remember watching the game and wondering why are they spending so much time showing the behavior of these players? It was gratuitous, it really took away from the game.

I do remember everyone being up in arms at their sideline behavior and Jimmy doing nothing about it. I don't know why anyone would have expected him to do that, the only thing keeping him out of the sports news with that band of rebels at OSU was Barry's Bad Boys were hogging all the headlines.

It was crazy, you know those ads for Gun Shows? I was expecting the OU Athletic Dorm to be advertised for one.

There’s actually a few teams that won some games last year with their backup QB. And a strong defense helping carry the load.

We had a backup last year first time in years who won a few games keeping us in contention. I’m not sure why we haven’t pursued that this year?

If he can stay upright for 17 games we should win the division. I’m not sure he can though with the injury concerns of our OL.

And in the event Dak does miss some time doesn’t look like we’ve addressed our backup QB adequately either. These are my biggest concerns.

But if Dak can remain healthy lighting up this offense and our defense is improved to at least top 20 instead of worst we could make some noise.

The NFC once you get past Tampa and a Green Bay with Rodgers, is fair game.
th
100 % spot on!

There was also an incident in Cotton Bowl against Texas when Miami thrashed them 46-3 . Had like 15 personal fouls or penalties , several for taunting , etc.

When you are all in, you are all in. I think Booger looks at this just as you do, Prescott goes down for any appreciable time, it's next season time.

There doesn't seem to be those guys like Randall Cunningham, Bernie Kosar, Steve Beurlein and Vinny Testeverde around any more. All backups that won games for the Cowboys.

Kosar was one of my favorites ever because he inspired every kid to go out into the backyard and throw a football.....just like he did. I am not sure he gripped it, maybe palmed it like Joe Kapp and Billy Kilmer did. If you were a Vikings receiver when Kapp played, you had to prepare for anything and everything, including end over end's. I can remember my Dad watching Kapp and saying "look at him. It's 0 degrees, the wind is blowing 20 mph and he's throwing end over end passes.....and completing them".
