You think Quinn has say in who we draft?
I thought 2020 draft was clearly directed under what Quinn’s preference and influence, even more than what Marinelli was.
Once I heard Quinn made the visit with McClay to Oregon and see Nashon Wright – en route to surprisingly – no, shockingly- selecting CB Wright as high as the 3rd rd.
I knew that had to be about Quinn’s very heavy influence upon this draft class.
Quinn’s involvement was vastly more evidence than what it was from Mike Nolan.
- However I do believe McClay was the lead voice in selecting Parson as high as he was projected to be in 1st round, and I still do not believe Parson was THE lead guy they wanted all along at their spot in 1st round, as the Cowboys later claimed. Those players I truly believe were CB's Horn and Surtain in that order.
- What i am glad is the Cowboys stuck to the value of their draft board per 1st round, rather than reach for a CB just for the sake of taking a CB - that could've been medical high risk Farley.
- Also the DBs in this 2021 class were all noted as INT ball hawks, but I do not believe this started with Quinn, I believe it actually started 2 years before with Donovan Wilson
and later with Diggs and Robinson.
- CB Michael Jackson selected in 4th or 5th round in that same 2019 year was once a highly regarded draft candidate but he slumped badly his final year at Miami
and never recovered confidence and play,..he's yet to develop into any kind of an NFL player.
