I considered this 2020 class the McClay-draft ,while i considered this recent 2021 class, the Dan Quinn draft.

Robinson wasn't a head scratcher with me, at the time he was drafted because he has the physical traits per size- speed, man coverage press skills and he collected 4 INT his final year -
as McClay was looking for INT ball hawks, but it became a head scratcher when it was announced he was being moved to safety, and even more of a head scratcher when he
simply the coaches had zero faith in him, ..not even as a special teams guy.

These position flex, coach em up types rarely work out here in Dallas.

Its a FO effort lead by MM and McClay. That has been the constant here the last two years.

You think Quinn has say in who we draft?

I thought 2020 draft was clearly directed under what Quinn’s preference and influence, even more than what Marinelli was.
Once I heard Quinn made the visit with McClay to Oregon and see Nashon Wright – en route to surprisingly – no, shockingly- selecting CB Wright as high as the 3rd rd.
I knew that had to be about Quinn’s very heavy influence upon this draft class.

Quinn’s involvement was vastly more evidence than what it was from Mike Nolan.

- However I do believe McClay was the lead voice in selecting Parson as high as he was projected to be in 1st round, and I still do not believe Parson was THE lead guy they wanted all along at their spot in 1st round, as the Cowboys later claimed. Those players I truly believe were CB's Horn and Surtain in that order.

- What i am glad is the Cowboys stuck to the value of their draft board per 1st round, rather than reach for a CB just for the sake of taking a CB - that could've been medical high risk Farley.

- Also the DBs in this 2021 class were all noted as INT ball hawks, but I do not believe this started with Quinn, I believe it actually started 2 years before with Donovan Wilson
and later with Diggs and Robinson.

- CB Michael Jackson selected in 4th or 5th round in that same 2019 year was once a highly regarded draft candidate but he slumped badly his final year at Miami
and never recovered confidence and play,..he's yet to develop into any kind of an NFL player.

Cowboys have continued position flex, regardless of what DC has been here. Maybe it's not just a Cowboys thing.
But when you invest in your high round picks such as Byron Jones, as flex guys ,i think it's a bad idea to tinker with flexing rather than have
that regarded prospect inserted at learning- mastering one single position.

Let your backup guys be committed to flexing, and learning/playing flex roles, per emergency injury, and active game day list numbers.

Tell me again how I was a big Jaylon Smith and Cooper Rush fan.
I never said you were a fan of Jaylon. I said you had nothing bad to say about him when he was drafted. You specifically only had something bad to say about Dak when he was drafted.

You were fans of all the gingers over Dak. Dalton, Rush, Wentz........let's not have revisionist history.

Oh, I must pay closer attention to what lie you're telling then.

Yes. I didn't know Jaylon was permanently injured and damaged goods until it was so obvious that even you knew it.

Huge Rush fan. Dalton too. I'd love to build around those QBs.

Finally! The Prescott era is over!!

Oh, I want to run around the streets naked.

2020 draft already looking like a great one.

Lamb
Diggs
Gallimore

Robinson
Biadasz
Anae
Denucci

Already 4 starters by the 2nd season. The Robinson was a head scratcher from the start.
The center may get beaten out by the Nebraska player, outright, not due to deficiencies, the Nebraska boy just might be better and more well rounded.

How did we all feel after 2016 when we drafted Zeke, Collins, Dak, Jaylon, Anthony Brown and the great Charles Tapper lol? I remember the posts...not sure if it was form you but some said the best draft in the past two decades.
I don’t know about best draft in decades but 5 starters in a draft is a good draft
I’m still waiting on Tapper lol
Never got the excitement for him myself

You think he's better than Biadiz right now? Based on what?
Biadasz is gonna be the starter
The Nebraska kid is competing for the swing G/C or he might not even be active and MCGovern is one he’s competing with

I am reading that Robinson is actually having good minicamps. Maybe he is not out the door yet.

I wouldnt say out the door, but he needs to start showing something or he will be left behind. We still dont have a long term answer at FS so there is that.

Yeah I was thinking the Nebraska kid was trying to make the roster not fight for the starting center spot lol.

Oh aye for the record i'm not knocking the 2016 class. I still like it to this day. Jaylon didn't turn out to be what we had hoped but at the end of the day you came out of it with a franchise QB and a few starters. For that alone you have to like it. I was just bringing up how people were far higher on it 3 years ago than they are now lol.
