This is the time of year in which the offseason gets long, so I start scouting other countries for talent. I think I've found a candidate from Japan that we could bring in to compete for a spot as kicker and/or punter. The player's name is Kenta Suzuki. He is the kicker and punter for the Nojima Sagamihara Rise (the team is located in Sagamihara, Japan). He's got a strong leg. In the video, you'll notice quite early on where he puts a 63 yard kick right down the middle. He made a 52 yard kick in the rain later in the video. This is quite difficult to do. Now, because of our stadium, that's 8 games he won't have to be kicking in the rain, but he looks to be quite consistent in the rain. Zuerlein did well with his watermelon kicks, but his FGs were a bit disappointing imo with an accuracy of 34 out of 41 field goals made. Furthermore, he was 33 out of 36 on extra points. Additionally, we could use more competition at punter as well. Suzuki can handle both duties and kickoff. So, I think it could be worth inviting him to training camp so he can be put to the test against Zuerlein and the two punters we currently have on the roster. Z is currently the only kicker on the roster, and we normally like to have an extra kicking leg for camp. I think with the range Suzuki shows, he could be a formidable challenger for Zuerlein.
