Dude will be a backup sooner rather than later. Might as well talk now while two or three people are listening.

Kyler Murray will have to switch sports from football to baseball to stay relevant in the sports world. ;)

not every player who grew up in texas is going to be a cowboys fan lol.
They can like whatever team they want.
Some nfl players did not have a fav nfl team.

I dont really care who is or isnt a cowboys fan.
And in kylers' LIFETIME the cowboys have been ......well to be kind not very good and disappointing the few years they had a good season.
So young guys have good reason to see the cowboys differently than us older people.

The Cowboys haven't been champions in his lifetime. Why would he be raised a Cowboys fan? He has a brain of his own.
The Vikings haven’t either.

But it doesn’t matter to me. Most people end up a fan of their local team, but some do not. It’s no skin off my nose if he didn’t like the Cowboys as a kid.

He was born in 1997. The Cowboys have sucked his whole life.

Meanwhile, he never lost a football game in his life through high school during the same time.

Makes sense.
How does it make sense? Most kids become NFL fans when they are … well, kids. Usually pretty young kids. Odds are him being a winner through high school had nothing to do with it. Odds are Murray wouldn’t have yet played in high school, or even junior high school, when he became an NFL fan.

Besides, it’s not as if Minnesota was an elite team over those years.

i don’t care that Murray wasn’t a Cowboy fan. To each his own. But don’t couple that fact with poor logic and pretend it makes sense. The normal thing is for a kid to be a fan of the local team shown on TV, covered by local media and followed by most people he knows. I’m sure if you asked every very successful high school player from the Dallas area who played over Murray’s lifetime the overwhelming majority would have a different opinion than Murray.

the media's annual hype and Jerry's dysfunctional inability to put together a balanced team makes it hard to respect the Cowboys, especially if you're only 20-something years old. In the last 25 years this team has had a decent OL for what, 4 or 5 years? And a playoff quality defense? maybe 2 or 3 years? and of course none of those years overlapped.

Do you think Murray just became a fan as an adult? I became a fan at about 6 years old. No young kid is examining the owner or GM or the OL. Most become fans of the local team that is on TV and followed by family and friends.

I don’t know why Murray did not become a Cowboy fan, or why he chose the Vikings, who incidentally were not exactly the elite of the NFL when he was a kid growing up. Maybe is Dad hated the Cowboys and he picked up on that. Maybe he had family from Minnesota. It I’ll bet dollars to donuts it wasn’t because he scrutinized the ownership and management and studied the interior linemen as a young grade school kid.

I don't see why Kyler Murray should "like" us as an opponent. A little respect wouldn't hurt, though! We need to find a way to make him adjust his attitude by sacking him on a respectable basis. Trouble is, you've gotta catch him first. That's easier said than done. A few picks might help, tho! ;)

Might think of the myriad of reasons why he doesn't like the Cowboys. Maybe that's his old man's favorite team and he doesn't get along with him or the reverse, he was around 10 or 11 when that whole "reliable source" nonsense showed up and that was anything but an admirable football team. Bunch of quitters and he might have overheard his Dad's frustration with one of the more embarrassing moments in Cowboys history. I had my reservations about staying with this team during that reality show.

How many times have you seen a poster here talk about being the black sheep in his family? Everyone else is a (hometown team) fan and he pulls against the yoke.

He was a young football stud when he was a teenager and maybe he met a couple of Cowboys he liked and that didn't turn out like he thought it would. Sometimes best to keep our heroes at arm's length lest they let us down.

In any case, no reason to go off on him and wish bad things on him just because he doesn't like what you like.
